I worked at Cactus Club Cafe full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You can make more money here than most restaurants. Always busy and the place runs like a well oiled machine most of the time. It's also really easy to move up quickly if you show a little bit of initiative, work ethic, and intelligence. Overall great place to work to save money quickly in between jobs, education, etc.

    Cons

Like any restaurant it can be hectic and getting time off can be frustrating. Some people also get frustrated with how much of a stickler they are for staff appearance.

    Advice to Management

Try to be as accommodating as possible with time off, and when people change their availability take it seriously. Don't talk down to your staff.

    Pros

I always felt supported by everyone above me.

    Cons

Too many corporate rules instead individual rules for each location

    Advice to Management

When training people make it more personalized instead of a step by step manual for each person.

    Pros

Interacting with some really great co-workers. Those not part of the clicks can be fun to work. Some really great customers do come to the restaurant and great friendships can develop.

    Cons

Majority of the staff are very "clicky" and if you are not part of that click, you will never feel like you are part of the team but it is impossible to get accepted so you are pretty much isolated when you are working. If you are not liked by management watch out!

    Advice to Management

Try to make everybody that you hire feel welcome. I'm pretty sure that you would get better results and as a result better employees.

    Cons
