I worked at Cactus Drilling full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Got to wear Jeans to work everyday and work with Good People, Was a Great Job. Benefits are Great. I'd recommend working here.

    Cons

Not what ya know it's who ya know. Not always fair about hearing both sides of a incident, other than that I really have nothing bad to say about this company.

    Advice to Management

There are 2 sides to every thing that happens

I worked at Cactus Drilling full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Decent bunks, per diem, decent equipment, i'm not sure what else to say bc i'm not that happy with them. Oh good insurance

    Cons

Telling your employees one thing and others another. Don't leave them hanging when you could find them other work. Go look at the buddy buddy system your supervisors have in place.

    Advice to Management

    Keep your word.

    Pros

Per Diem and the Potential Bonuses

    Cons

Travel from home to the locatoin

    Advice to Management

I've only been employed two months. Not much interaction with management

    Pros

Ok pay. Full benefits for insuane.

    Cons

Unstable work for lower level workers (Layoffs). Pay is low to be separated from family half of the time compared to other companies. No suplamental income for clothing. No vacation time or sick leave. Many days with out breaks even when mandated by upper management and reenforced by news letters about heat stress.

    Pros

Good pay, insurance, and solid rigs.

    Cons

Took over a year to start receiving bonuses.
Like others have said, if you aren't in the click, you might want to start looking for a new job. They will fire you without any reason, because someone don't like you. Even with a positive, clean record. It's worse then playground politics. And the front desk will give you the runaround when you try to talk to HR.

    Advice to Management

Need to lose the politics and get to drilling.

    Pros

Good pay. Good benefits. Nice Equipment

    Cons

The amazon women that looks like the landlord from King Pin will take your bonus away every chance she gets.

    Advice to Management

Would be nice if everyone was treated the same. Not one set of rules for friends and family and another set for everyone else

I worked at Cactus Drilling (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Pay, days worked and off

    Cons

Well if you're not in with a "click", you can best believe that your time with the company is over! Then when you try to talk to them to find out what you did wrong, you are given the run around. You don't actually find out that you're fired until the health insurance company sends you a statement saying that " we are no longer able to give you coverage because you have been terminated.

    Advice to Management

Be willing to listen to ALL of your employees. And when you have orientation, don't preach that there is "no harassment policy" because that's a lie. Also maybe they need to look at the WHOLE PICTURE! You let a man go that would go to any rig and work, come in extra on days off yet not train him how CACTUS states that they will be trained! Your orientation is nothing but lies!!

I worked at Cactus Drilling full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    The benefit package is good.

    Cons

If a supervisor takes a personal dislike to an employee the main office will not speak to the employee to hear his/her story.

    Advice to Management

The rig hands are who keep the company going, just keep that in mind is all.

I worked at Cactus Drilling full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great company, great benefits, new office, up to date rigs and equipment. Good coworkers. Room for advancement if you are a hard worker. Opportunity for extra work. Safety. Strong drug/workplace policy. 7 on 7 off, 87,5 hour work week, per diem, oil base mud pay.

    Cons

Having to come in on off weeks during rig move occasionally, but it was not that big of a deal.
