I worked at Cadillac Ranch part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great money, fun atmosphere, only open three days a week, food only part of the shift

    Cons

Long shifts (typically 10+ hour shifts for the money), bad, malicious management, too many untrained security guards around, dirty bars, outdated appliances

    Advice to Management

Clean up the place and it would really shine like it used to. Pick one concept of what you represent and go after it.

I worked at Cadillac Ranch full-time

    Pros

Staff was great and so was the atmosphere. Received great training. However none of it was followed once I was back to my store.

    Cons

Management schedule was highly unfair. 1 manager worked nights and 60 hours a week while the others woked days and 30 hours on a good week.

    Advice to Management

Rotate your shifts and stop burning out the night manager.

    Pros

    Pretty good tipouts on weekends

    Cons

Walking up and down the flight of stairs without a lot of room to work with. Worse than usual hourly pay for support positions.

    Advice to Management

Don't keep multiple runners on late

I have been working at Cadillac Ranch full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The company in Pittsburgh is great. Most of the staff know what they are doing and are really good at their jobs, which is why I think this place is good to not only work but to visit as a customer as well. I think that if you love the people you work with and are trusted you can go very far in the service industry since people want to be served by an actual caring and live person rather than a robot. And tips reflect that fact. Also generally managers have the staff's back.

    Cons

There is some staff doing sub-par work, though few and far between, and it does cause a headache for some other employees.

    Advice to Management

I would look at finding a way to have guests give you a written review at their tables at the time of their service so that you get a quick and accurate response on what the feel was for their visit. This may get more results than surveys and will allow them to show their appreciation of their service without having to sign up their email account.

    Pros

Generally, great employees due to the unit's hiring process. Interesting concept. Great curb appeal.

    Cons

Terrible/non-existent corporate support. Muddled execution of concept. Management staff are over-worked and this, combined with no real-world support at the corporate level, creates apathy that can spread throughout the unit.

    Advice to Management

Execution and delivery of promises creates loyalty. As employees are always the most important asset to any service industry unit, go the "extra mile" to ensure that these tenets are followed. The result will be increased, positive guest responses, higher employee morale, and loyalty from top to bottom that will be infectious to your clientele. In other words, CARE about the people that enter your buildings including employees.
