I worked at Cahill Gordon full-time

    Pros

Intense training and exposure to large deals and the bank side of private equity industry; fairly high profile investigation and litigation matters for big financial institutions

    Cons

Specialized without much intention to change, difficult to , shedding a lot of historical heritage in favor of short term profits

    Advice to Management

Be transparent about strategic direction and justify it; prioritize employee health slightly more

I have been working at Cahill Gordon full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Generous vacation, good healthcare options, flex spending, business at the firm is excellent. Revenues are up, which means the company is thriving. Associates receive 3 bonuses a year.

    Cons

Management is committed to shifting admin and paralegal to outside contractors. Steps are continually being taken to ensure support staff feels like factory workers on the precipice of losing their jobs (micromanaging clocking in/out for workdays).

    Advice to Management

Transparency about the change in the business model would be better than passive-aggressive tactics to encourage departures.

I worked at Cahill Gordon full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Good Firm and Good Benefits

    Cons

Acceptance of Accountability when found to be wrong.

    Advice to Management

CGR should hire people who are thoroughly knowledgeable of Federal Tax Laws. I am a victim of nine years of systematic fraudulent tax reporting to IRS due to a person(s) who were/are incapable of compliance with applicable tax laws.

I have been working at Cahill Gordon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

i've been at cahill since the fall, after I graduated from law school, and I'm really happy to be here. I'm getting a lot of exposure working with high-profile clients in the litigation group. I'm working really hard but the partners are approachable and accessible and definitely not as egotistical as they are at other firms.

    Cons

cahill primarily works with banks - in both transactional and litigation practices - so this isn't the ideal place if you're looking to work with an extremely wide range of clients

    Advice to Management

continue to be transparent about the firm with associates.
