Pros
Great co-workers, good tuition benefits for staff and dependents. I enjoyed the times that we gathered as faculty/staff to celebrate the beginning of each semester.
Cons
I left of my own accord and still deeply care about Cairn. However, there seems to be a lack of understanding from the administration regarding the low pay, outdated HR policies, lack of employee care, and the patriarchy.

Employees are unified under a common belief system, and the University's mission. Those in leadership, especially the president and those he has brought in recently, have a great vision for the University and how to best navigate through this demanding market. The future of the University looks strong and exciting, even through the challenging years of transition the University is coming out of. Employees are cared for in many ways and are encouraged to get involved in the life of the campus. It is a privilege to work alongside the many talented men and women at Cairn.
Cons
It is difficult, but not impossible, to try to make a career out of a majority of positions on staff due to the low salaries, creating a disappointing high turnover rate of employees in many departments. Salaries are low for industry standards, even compared to similar Universities.

Enjoyable context to teach in.
Nov 29, 2019 - Adjunct Professor in Langhorne, PARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I regularly teach as an Adjunct Professor at Cairn. I find it to be an enjoyable environment in which to serve. They have given me considerable "creative license" in the manner in which I teach my courses, but have also been clear about the standards and objectives that are required for each course.
Cons
As an Adjunct Professor, I don't always feel as connected to the overall life and culture at the university. Not sure there is much more that could be done to correct that, however.

Great vision, poor adaptation/implementation
Apr 13, 2014 - Anonymous Employee in Langhorne, PARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The school is dedicated to Biblical principles.
Cons
Poor educational benefits, 3 years of employment necessary before 100% tuition remission for Master's program. Great commitment to Scriptural principles but due to executive leadership's inability to adapt to the changing job market and economic condition they will wither and die if something isn't done soon.

Decent first job-admissions

Great people to work with, great work environment, great team setting. Good benefits package, help employees get involved in activities around the school as well.
Cons
low pay, lots of turnover at the school except at VP level. Attitude in Admissions seems to be shifting and making the job more serious than in the past, probably because of pressure to bring in students.
