I worked at CalAmp full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Good benifits and stock options

    Cons

Long hours even after troubleshooting problems throughout the night you were still expected to put in your regular hours during the day. I went a whole summer without getting any sleep and there was no sympathy from management.

I have been working at CalAmp full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Innovative engineers, exciting technology, growing market.

    Cons

We've become too top heavy, need more QA/software/hardware engineers (especially for OBD products), need better communication on company's vision/roadmap.

    Advice to Management

Streamline product line so resources are not too diluted.

I have been working at CalAmp full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Close to home, nice working environment and mostly friendly co-workers. Calamp brought very nice perks (when they took over) that we NEVER got before and it makes me feel like I am appreciated.

    Cons

Changes in the healthcare were higher than our other one, too many steps to use/access money from the 401K (emergencies) and they charge you $50 for the transaction (rip off). That process in NOT user friendly. No career opportunities at this location either you are a dispatcher or quit. Nothing to advance to hear in Georgia.

    Advice to Management

    NA

    Pros

Nice people. Has a straightforward goal/vision for the company moving forward. Fast growing company. Numerous company health initiatives and competitions for fun.

    Cons

Incredibly disorganized. Did not maximize worker productivity. Often sat there with only an hour or two worth of work and could not get assigned more when asked.

    Advice to Management

Need to work on better communication between teams and coworkers. Do better with maximizing worker productivity.

There is no much opportunity to grow actually in this company for technical guy.

Too many segmented companies which sometimes causes projects to be delayed.

    Advice to Management

Review organization and how each separate company communicates.
