I have been working at Calamos Asset Management full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Fantastic management team, free lunch, work-life balance, solid benefits, flexibility in hours, relaxed environment. Market and summer hours and holidays

    Cons

Some departments struggle with communication with management, overcoming challenging investment performance. Have not experienced it personally, but seems that other departments have issues with micromanagement and employee turnover

    Advice to Management

You need to keep the great employees happy. Base compensation of management and investment team on their performance.

    Free Lunch
    Clean well kept building

    Cons

There is no trust of associates. Guilty until proven innocent.

I have been working at Calamos Asset Management full-time

    Pros

Great location, free lunch, very clean and organized building. Employees are friendly and helpful. Couldn't have asked for a better transition out of college into the working world.

    Cons

As an IT professional at the company, I cannot think of any major downsides to working at Calamos. Typical IT related annoyances occur but that goes for any business.

I have been working at Calamos Asset Management full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Don't let the other reviews fool you. Calamos is a great place to work with free lunches, competitive salaries, plenty of PTO, 401K, summer hours (good work/life balance), great people and a super nice building to work in. Calamos is now under a new CEO and the future is looking really bright. Great place to learn and grow.

    Cons

Nothing really, the only compliant I have is that some of the employees are introverted

    Advice to Management

    Continue to focus on growth

I worked at Calamos Asset Management (Less than a year)

    Pros

Worked with teams directly, easy to get a feel for the company culture and how everything in the company works as a whole.

    Cons

Feels like the company was taking a different approach near the end of the summer, went from public to private. Unsure of management

  8. "Smart people committed to teaching their associates and growing talent."

    Pros

Great people willing to mentor new hires
Unbelievable office with impressive technology resources
    Entrepreneurial environment that fosters innovation

    Cons

Located outside of the city which makes commuting a hassle from downtown

I have been working at Calamos Asset Management full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good work/life balance, hours are flexible, you have time to learn, not a lot of stress, free lunch, fruits, snacks, tea and coffee, pay is ok. They have summer hours program and jeans day every Friday in the summer. They have some discounts for employees and they are thinking of creating a day care.

    Cons

Work from home is not available and the lunch could have some more healthier options.

I worked at Calamos Asset Management full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They do a great job of hiring good people, whether they are experienced or not, and provide excellent training. Had some frustrations with the company during my time there, but the farther away I get, the more I see how well put together the organization is.

    Cons

This went from a small operation to a large, 450-500 person company within a relatively short period of time so upper mamangement had a hard time not knowing what was going on in each department all of the time. Somewhat of a micromanagement situation.

    Advice to Management

Unleash your talent a bit more. You hire good people and sometimes hold them back.
