I worked at Calence LLC as a contractor (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Calence is a great company. Their people that care about your career and not just staffing. They are good at what they do and offer very competitive rates and good benefits for consultants.

    Cons

I don't really have a lot of cons. It would be nice if they offered paid time off, but that is unrealistic for independent consultants. I guess my biggest complaint is they don't offer the ability to go Corp 2 Corp.

    Advice to Management

Keep the focus of you business on the people and the value they bring to the table and you will continue to be successful.

I worked at Calence LLC full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The People: super smart, super motivated, super friendly and helpful. The amazing "we're in this together" culture. Calence "punched above its weight" and worked with some great clients on important projects.

    Cons

The consulting/ management services business means that client service is critical - this led to travel and some long hours.

I have been working at Calence LLC full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

work in large environment and are able to get to know lots of people.

    Cons

Harassment by managers. No avenues for assisted career growth. Don't pay employees on time or correctly. HR never responds to complaints from employees. Everything is a secret. very unstable work environment.

    Advice to Management

When you do employee sat surveys acknowledge your problems with an answer to fix it not just say you will. Half your employees are scared of retaliation. So they don't give honest answers. Understand that your CSR's do most of the work and are not compensated for it at all and they are really mad you cut their pay in half. Realize some of the managers are retaliating against employees and they have no clue how to manage.. Upper management is great its the lower ones that aren't. Give lower goals so the teams can make some money if they are not hitting goals get rid of them and find better talent.

    Pros

Calence is a dynamic and cooperative environment to work in. The people at Calence are very smart and you never feel alone, even when you are a single consultant out delivering on a client site. The top-level management is excellent and very forward-thinking as well.

    Cons

Some mid-level management seem a bit out of touch with their own people. In addition, as the company has grown larger, it seems there are a few more people who are true 8 to 5'ers... those who don't have the 'whatever it takes' attitude for client satisfaction and getting things done.

    Advice to Management

numbers are not the only bellweather of a manager's performance. Some management folks have good numbers but are viewed by their entire teams as non-functional.
