    No opinion of CEO

I worked at California Baptist University full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

CBU has an amazing community of staff and faculty, a beautiful work environment, and opportunities to continually invest in the lives of students no matter what the role. Health and retirement benefits are great as well. Full-time staff have the opportunity to lead an International Service Project as part of their role, pending approval of area VP, without using PTO.

    Cons

Compensation is rather low and also quite secretive, which makes it difficult to discern whether you're receiving a fair wage. Opportunities for upward mobility are infrequent, since many roles are filled internally and employment decisions are often based on prior relationships.

I have been working at California Baptist University full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Nice surroundings, some friendly people

    Cons

Some employees are rude, demeaning, belittling, and literally try to get you fired. The pay is very low compared to other state schools. CBU is focused more on growing attendance and building new buildings that it neglects its employees.

I have been working at California Baptist University full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

I love the flexibility CBU offers and the Christ-centeredness environment.

    Cons

The entitlement behavior of some of the students makes it hard for them to take responsibility for their learning and instead, blame the professors for bad grades.

I worked at California Baptist University part-time

    Pros

CBU is mostly a good environment with good people. The campus continues to expand.

    Cons

It can be difficult to advance in your work unless you know the right people.

  6. "Best University to study, work and 'Live your purpose'"

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

I worked at California Baptist University part-time

    Pros

CBU has a peaceful environment, people are so friendly here that you would want to be here forever.

    Cons

Its not a big deal but some part of CBU Campus is always under construction, Atleast from 2015 to 2017 and Engineering building will take about a year. So travelling within campus can be frustrating at times but its mandatory for their development.

I worked at California Baptist University full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Fantastic, growing Christian University with quality students and staff. A very vibrant campus in Riverside, CA. Athletic teams are superior and will be transitioning to NCAA DI for the next several years.

    Cons

I have nothing but positive reviews for CBU, its vision and its people.

I have been working at California Baptist University for more than 3 years

    Pros

Work with college schedule and sometimes flexible.

    Cons

Can only work part-time because CBU doesnt want to give student workers or other staff any benefits. They are very strict, and cap the maximum of 28 hours a week. Some managers can be unreasonable, some are pleasant and truly represent their Chrisitan values they claim to have. No pay raises either....

I have been working at California Baptist University full-time

    Pros

After working at CBU for seven plus years, I highly recommend this University. The other faculty members are all outstanding, kind, and want nothing but the very best for everyone. Likewise, the staff and administrative team is outstanding.

    Cons

I will be very honest, there are no "cons" that I have found! As a Christian University, they hold true to everything they promote.
