    Politics, devious employees with lack of education will sabotage you

    Pros

    Have a lot of opportunity to learn bank operation through the rating of CAMELS components.
    Competition among colleagues are generally less than other regulators.

    Cons

    Bureaucratic environment of government jobs.
    Rigid following of rules.
    Incompetent promotional decisions.
    Perception of lower level examiners among regulators.
    Colleagues' expertise level is below that of other federal regulators.

    Advice to Management

    Unfair distribution of opportunities for job advancement.
    Provide no organizational incentive for examiners to work hard.
    Standard of performance is half decent.

    Pros

    One gains valuable experience if they're employed in the banking division. The other divisions (credit union, money transmitters division) are dead ends.
    Retirement benefits are fantastic.

    Cons

    Pay is not competitive.
    If you're not employed in the banking section, this is a dead end job.
