I have been working at California Health and Human Services Agency part-time
Low stress, room for upward movement, good first professional environment for students, flexible hours for students
Work can seem unrelated to the department at times (depends on the department), students have to be enrolled in at least 6 units
For those who desire a stable, consistent work environment, this is the place for you.
Lack of promotional opportunities is the biggest along with senior and executive management not keeping up with the changes in work environments. They have been at the state so long, they have lost touch with the product they support, the clients who use the product and what is current technology that can be used to streamline business practices.
Advice to Management
Step out of your office and get back in touch with the staff and the products/policies the department is supposed to be supporting.
