I worked at California Maritime Academy part-time

    Pros

It was a great job to have while attending the California Maritime Academy! I was able to work with many different types of students, and the staff in the SEAS Center is fantastic!

    Cons

Because the campus is so small, it is difficult to find parking!

    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at California Maritime Academy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great place for hands-on engineering training. Lots of classes involve working with and understanding real machinery such as: 13,600 bhp main engines, boilers, distillers, pumps, etc.

Extremely high job placement rate in careers RELEVANT to the major. Very easy to net jobs paying upwards of $90k in an entry level position with low (~2.5) GPAs for engineering majors.

    Cons

Very hard to get off campus housing, being in the Corps of Cadets requires formation attendance, lots of bureaucracy and drama in the Corps.

    Advice to Management

Be more organized and transparent with required events. An email the day of a for an event "required" for graduation is unacceptable.

Positive campus vibe, as am employee you really feel like you are contributing to a bigger picture with student success.
