I have been working at California Teachers Association full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Really excellent place to work. Great colleagues and fantastic support from management. Benefits can't be beat and there are opportunities to grow within the organization.

    Cons

You make the same salary no matter where you are based which means someone with same job and qualifications in LA makes the same as someone living in Redding where your income goes much further.

    Advice to Management

Keep the conversations ongoing and make an effort to keep it everything simple.

    Pros

Great benefits, hours are very good (7 hours) unless your job requires OT. Union jobs, except for management positions. Great mission statement. Once you work here people seldom leave. Been here 23 years. There have been people that have been here 33-40 years. Great place to work, like any other company there are politics but for the most part great place.

    Cons

    Not much room for advancement.

    Pros

This place was one of the best jobs I had during law school. Kind and hardworking staff & attorneys. Good pay as a law clerk and great learning environment.

    Cons

Honestly, no cons I could think of.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at California Teachers Association full-time

    Pros

Salary and benefits are top notch. Although salaries are the same for the same positions throughout the state, so if you live in an expensive part of the state (ie. Bay Area) you may not be as happy as, say, someone in the Central part of the state with the salary.

    Cons

Bureaucratic. They tend to hire very good people but most of the Supervisors are not trained or have not clear function to the organization. Otherwise everyone else is great.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the Supervisor position altogether or at least hire people who are qualified and understand the work that their subordinate do.
