    Cons

    Calix is in a tough marketplace with constant competition and margin pressures. It is a very busy fast paced environment. Company expansion is taking a lot of resources.

    I have been working at Calix full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    Customer and solutions driven company with a solid vision and plan to be successful. They challenge and treat their employees well. They have a good benefits program.

    Cons

    A change in HR Exec staff about 1.5 years ago caused a change in the culture from one of open door and communication to one of political and personal. The Exec HR staff changed in Q4 2015 and I'm optimistic that the new leadership will institute a positive non-political environment.

    Advice to Management

    Continue to hire employees that are talented and fit within the Calix culture of working hard and reaping the rewards equally. Continue to improve the employee benefits, we are your greatest asset.

    I have been working at Calix full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Challenging assignments, lots of work but reasonable expectations. Company runs lean but this is a good thing because this means none of the typical layoff stress. But they do let people go due to performance.

    Cons

    Lots of work and high expectations due to lean staffing. Company is so focused on the core strategy that other opportunities are often over looked.

    Advice to Management

    More communication with the workforce. Keep the team strategy clear and preach it often.
