I worked at Callaway Golf full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Products are good and the brand has status

    Cons

As far as sales position goes - Products are launched too frequently. Selling model is riddled with cascading prices and customers just keep getting robbed of margins then stuck with old products. If they send back when new products are reintroduced, which most do, it’s just a wash dollar wise and you make very little commission. But if you don’t get that new product placed - you’re history. Customers are constantly...

I worked at Callaway Golf part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Fun if you love golf and enjoy going to new courses and meeting new people. Had a lot of fun experiences meeting local pros and being around people who loved golf.

    Cons

Pay is decent but travel costs are on your own, somewhat disorganzed. Went to events only to find out that I had been told the wrong dates.

    Advice to Management

Organize your staff and event schedules better, Training was minimal, I was only successful because I was already involved in the game.

    I worked at Callaway Golf

    Pros

The Pay with Callaway as an outside sales representative is good compared to other types of sales professions. It is one of the top selling brands in the sport so it is not that hard to sell. All-in-all as an employee you are treated pretty well there.

    Cons

Upper Level management while some have golf industry experience many do not and those that do have been so disconnected from actually being out in the field or in other parts of the country besides sunny San Diego, CA for so long that you have to scratch your head sometimes about why they decide to do things. As anywhere things are very political, and you need to become friends with the right people if your going to move...

    Advice to Management

Management should listen to their employees a little more, they are the ones that actually have the pulse of the customer and the consumers because they are the ones dealing with them everyday.
