I worked at Callisto Integration part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Company Parties (especially Christmas)
    Friendly Staff

    Cons

Training consists of "read this manual". You are expected to learn completely on your own, even if that includes after normal working hours. Somewhat expected in the software world but not when it's using technologies that you can't boast on your resume. This isn't Angular, foundational .NET, complex C#, etc. This is Wonderware and VB Script- completely useless for 99.999% of jobs.

    Advice to Management

Rope in your managers and have them or other senior staff TEACH junior developers and interns. No engineer worth keeping is going to take "meh" pay and work the 50+ hours per week that you guys demand. Additionally, an intern should be getting one-on-one learning time, not thrown manuals and doing administrative tasks for "work".

    Pros

Company offers a flexible working environment and offers several employee sponsored events. Co-workers tend to be friendly, helpful and knowledgeable in their field of expertise.

    Cons

Company refuses to embrace newer technology instead relying on cobbling together broken systems that have long since passed their usefulness. Competitiveness over cooperation seems to be the chief motivator for the company leading to a pretty stressful work environment for everyone.

    Advice to Management

Find a way to better inspire employees to do their best, listen to new ideas instead of immediately dismissing them. Provide training for mid-level management to rally team productiveness and cooperation.

I have been working at Callisto Integration full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Lots of responsibility compared with level of experience. Great learning environment due to hands-on exposure and travel to manufacturing facilities. Interesting industries & projects. Lots of travel (if you like traveling). Yearly performance bonus & raise. Flexible earned time off policy. Ability to occasionally work from home.

    Cons

Lots of travel which causes work-life balance to suffer. Base salary is fairly low. Advancement opportunities are not well-defined. 10 days starting vacation time. 1.5x pay multiplier applies after 20% OT per month. Earned time off applies after 4 hours OT per week.

    Advice to Management

Continue to grow. Improve compensation structure for OT, earned time off and travel incentives. Improve work/life balance. Create clearly defined targets for career advancement within the company.

    Pros

Amazing experience and lots or responsibilities very early on. You could spend 10 years at another corporate company and still not have all this experience.

    Cons

    - Compensation is mediocre at best.
    - No standardization with the management of different teams.
    - Work-Life balance is non-existent. Always work.. work.. and more work...

    Advice to Management

Listen to the employees needs and wants.
