    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Cambridge Partners & Associates full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Enjoy the anonymity to manage projects without constant oversight or micro managing. The large variety of industries served by the company is something I have not experienced before and it has given me tremendous insight into how businesses operate and become successful. Bonuses are paid not just based on whether employees individually do a good job, but also for new business they develop and if the firm does well (like a profit sharing).

    Cons

Suburban Chicago versus in the city. It would be nice to have an office closer to the financial district. Large amount of responsibility is placed on the employees to complete complex assignments in a relatively short period of time.

    Advice to Management

Consider adding location in the city. Spend more time training employees on other service areas to help them understand the many disciplines. Consider a management training program for younger employees as there doesn't seem to be anything formal in place.

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at Cambridge Partners & Associates full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great working environment, with very reasonable working hours, usually 40 hours per week, and never more than 50 hours per week. Summer hours are even better, as most Fridays are half day off.

    Friendly, open door management

    Cons

    Below average compensation
Small family owned business with limited exposure to capital markets and limited growth opportunities
