Pros
I have been here less than 2 years. I can say by far out of all the companies I have worked for which included another best places to work this is the best place to work. People are the best. The culture is amazing. Everyone cares. Monday's do not suck. Before I contemplated being done with what I do. Camden has made work fun and exciting again. So glad I came on board.
Cons
Luckily I have no cons.

Pros
A lot of benefits cones from it being a bigger apartment company

A lot of work to manage at long beach property being tge biggest property in the company. So has more work and and need more work. Also 1 weekend day is mandatory to be worked. (Still get 2 consecutive days off)

Pros
Lots of opportunities and experience in different settings. Periodic bonuses (to offset compensation needed for better discount towards housing) were nice.
Cons
The company is very cliquish. Which is normal in any business but here it's a different level. Decisions onsite are often based off personal relationships and feelings and managers aren't very forthcoming. There are lots of times where teams work out of fear of losing jobs but unrealistic expectations for goals are set. Managers are not adequately vetted for positions other than tenure & popularity amongst those aforementioned personal relationships, not actual skillset. In other words, moral compass is not valued.

Pros
Great Benefits, good people you work with and the company does give back to employees in the form of bonuses and other rewards that I haven’t experienced at other places.
Cons
They changed the structure of the onsite teams for properties and reduced the staff. More workload and harder for promotional opportunities

Pros
Camden as a whole is fantastic. Advanced vacation time is really nice as well along with the vacation suites (if your ever able to reserved one).
Cons
There is no room for growth. If a higher up position comes available, they will boost you to apply saying that you're qualified, etc. just to give it to someone who hasn't worked for Camden, but preach on how they love to hire from within. ZERO work/life balance. Getting off at 6 M-F is exhausting, so when you come home at 6:30-7PM you have little time to yourself. On top of this, they do not rotated Saturdays. Your PTO is held against you and they guilt trip if you have to use your sick time, even if you're sick with COVID. Management is as awful as it gets. They micromanage you to death and wonder why the team isn't happy. If you mess up on something, you get scolded like a toddler or yelled at. They will blame you for not meeting numbers like the community you work at isn't deteriorating by the second.

Pros
Camden has a great culture feel of people who care about one another and the customers they serve. We like to have fun and look for new and innovative ways to get the job done.
Cons
We work in an industry that is people facing and high paced. There are always new problems to solve and it can be both exciting and overwhelming at times.
