    I have been working at Camden Property Trust full-time

    Pros

    Great team-oriented environment, good benefits.

    Cons

    Capped earning potential does not allow Leasing Consultants to survive in the current cost of living, causing high turnover in this level position

    Advice to Management

    Higher commission pay and full tuition reimbursement would help the company to "build the bench" and stop so much turn over

    Pros

    Camden is a company where you can truly be yourself. Leadership is very focused on personal awareness and growth. This leads to high overall job satisfaction and is the reason many individuals stay in their positions for long periods of time.

    Cons

    Very little job advancement opportunities as many people stay in their positions for long periods of time. Position advancement, many times, requires relocation to another city/state. This can be difficult for families with school aged children.

    Advice to Management

    Keep helping people be their best by celebrating what makes each team member an individual.

    Pros

    Good bonus in December and January

    Cons

    Management tends to get clique-y and elitist.

    Advice to Management

    Visit properties more frequently to understand how the team is actually working together.

    Pros

    Great company! They provide you with endless resources and tools to be successful.

    Cons

    No advancement opportunities. The company isn't growing and management does leave so you reach a point where you become very stuck.

    Advice to Management

    Continue to give motivate and give your employees something to be excited about. The lack of advancement makes it difficult for ambitious employees.

    I worked at Camden Property Trust full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great training program "Camden U". Lots of Company parties and team building activities. Flexible Schedule. They pay for your uniforms. Commission can be awesome or horrible depending on you AND the community you're at. Awesome vacation apartments for when you travel. Good benefits package.

    Cons

    Sometimes you work 6-10 days in a row. You'll have to work weekends. Commission checks can be a little irregular. Upper management tends to show favoritism.

    Pros

    Working with your coworkers is encouraged. Very helpful teammates, even in different markets! If you're invited to join, DO IT!
    If you want to learn new stuff, they will teach you, BUT master the tasks they give you first!
    I learned a lot about the industry and am grateful for my time there.

    Cons

    As with any groupings of people, clicks can form, and all of that. Just always have a plan B and you will be fine!

    I have been working at Camden Property Trust full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    * Good Culture environment
    * Benefits
    * Work schedule/Life balance - it's nice when at a smaller property or have a good manager & work team that can provide coverage
    * Company Events
    * Paid Holidays (especially being closed on Thanksgiving & Black Friday; Christmas Day and Christmas eve)
    * Training

    Cons

    * Pay is a bit low even though its a base pay + commission incentives...if business is slow you definitely see it in your paycheck
    * Work schedule: i don't mind the weekends however if you have a family this can be a challenge or if you work at a larger property it may be harder to get off because a certain number of agents need to be on schedule for business needs
    * Career advancement can be slow- they will tell you this upfront in the interview as so many employees are long-term (10 + years which is a good & bad thing. Advancement will only take place if someone has left the company or died)
    * Rental rates increases can be tough to explain to residents especially if its a big hike like up to $200 per month; wish the rates were a bit more steady despite all the growth in Dallas. These same rental hikes are what the employees experience even with the discount of 20%. You definitely feel the pain of the residents when they get their renewal offer as pay now a days doesn't increase that fast.

    Advice to Management

    *Steady out the rental rates for residents and employees....too high of hikes will only lead residents and employees to rent elsewhere or further look into buying a home sooner and/or affect social media /yelp/ google reviews
