    Pros

Has great potential to have a world class organization

    Cons

SOX audits do not reveal accurate oversights, theft and misappropriations.

    Advice to Management

Take blinders off to internal skill set deficiencies, stealing and misappropriation.

I worked at Cameco full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Work was challenging at times.

    Cons

Lack of direction at mine site. Corporate management (Saskatoon) not in tune with US operations. Take too long to make decisions, over analyze everything. Preach safety, but don't always follow through.

I worked at Cameco full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Insurance and benefits were good

    Cons

Low salaries by industry standard. Little opportunity for advancement. Cameco basically trains employees for better jobs somewhere else.

    Advice to Management

Management views government regulators with open disdain in company meetings. This is highly inappropriate and has led to complications with permitting and mining.

I worked at Cameco full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

well run organization, camps are great and you can get as involved as you want in activities. Over 50 percent First Nations will get first priority for everything, that's a given. Management style is very fair. Fun interesting place to work, with lots of experienced people willing to help show you the ropes. Best if you have SAP, although it's easy to learn (I didn't have it before I went there, but was very accustomed to CMMS). Excellent salary range with annual percentage bonus depending on performance, Cameco's profit margin, and position held. Fly in fly out is excellent and well planned Accommodations are comfortable and food is always good and plentiful.

    Cons

Worst part was losing job by a phone call, when the media had already said we were being shut down (Rabbit Lake). They said they told the employees personally, but that's not true--I got a phone call from my cross shift. Emphasis on First Nations can be annoying if they get a job they aren't qualified for, and quit too soon.

    Advice to Management

Hire First Nations people first only if they are fully qualified.
If you plan to shut down, don't let employees hear about it on the MEDIA.

Good benefits, safe work environment, knowledgeable team.

    Cons

Strong HR intervention restricts managers from being creative in building a collaborative team environment.

    Advice to Management

    Trust your managers

    Pros

Great people to work with. Management were good to work for and fair. Good employer.

    Cons

Need more investment in living quarter infrastructure at the older camps.

    Advice to Management

The management style has been good. Please don't change it to one of corporate greed as so many other mining companies have done.
