I have been working at Camille La Vie full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Beautiful dresses, flexible schedule, respectful and caring of personal situations, competitive pay, good holiday/vacation/personal day benefits, fun atmosphere.

    Cons

They do not match anything towards your 401k contribution, the cost of medical benefits it's extremely high, unaffordable for families.

    Advice to Management

I think management should consider increasing the pay rate so that they can get better quality employees to come and work for them, it will pay off in the long run

I have been working at Camille La Vie full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great staff. Freedom to manage without DM breathing down your neck. Promotes creativity with merchandising. Helps build management skills. Descent product. Corporate staff are very nice and easy to talk too.

    Cons

The pay does not compensate for the amount of work done and the amount of revenue generated. As a manager running a store without seeing upper management but maybe every 5 to 6 months there is only communication through email or phone. This leaves you to problem solve and make decisions without support. This is not all bad, but that involves you being left to find people to maintenance the store when things stop working (hot water heater etc.) With corporate only asking how much it cost, and can you get a lower price. On top of low pay the medical benefits are HORRIBLE. They advertise 401K in there career add, but what is the use when they don't match not even 1%. No opportunity for advancement for SM because they close more stores than they open. And if you move up from any other position they offer pennies with no negotiation. No raises for the past 3 to 4 years.

    Advice to Management

Pay your staff what they deserve. Better benefits. Better maintenance support from corporate.

I worked at Camille La Vie full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

My team was like family. The discount was good. They have a memorial day for 9/11.

    Cons

SM and AM, have to deal with a DM that pretends to work, while in reality she does not. She just sit in the back or leaves early! She lies about almost anything. This lady will blame you for things that went wrong in your store, even thought she told you to do it!

    Advice to Management

Sitting in the back and paying your bills is not part of your job description. Don't lie about things that we all know is not true. Learned how to actually do your job! Approving payroll is not that hard. Don't ask people to work more than 45+ hrs a week, when you don't even work the 45 hrs.

I worked at Camille La Vie full-time

    Pros

Family owned so you will know everyone in the company. Glamorous dresses to see daily!

    Cons

very hard to move up as it is a small company. No competitive pay. Certain managers do not do any work and only work when they hear the district manager is visiting. Employees do not get rewarded ( it can just be positive feed back). They have a no return policy but regardless items are returned back due to customer service.

    Advice to Management

be a team player on the floor and lead your team not just a behind the stock room manager.

I worked at Camille La Vie part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The dresses are gorgeous and styling the customers was always fun.

    Cons

Low pay for all the work you do. Management barely does anything and high expectation to be a security guard and a janitor. Overall look for something else! Very cheap company!

    Advice to Management

Get up and work! Staying in the back all the time claiming you have emails to respond to is just wrong.

I worked at Camille La Vie full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great work/family balance. They do appreciate each and every employee, you are not just a number. Positive and upbeat environment!

    Cons

No incentives, such as bonuses or raises. Hard to request off when the staff is so small. Need to open more locations. Hard to advance into higher positions when some states only have one store!

    Advice to Management

Make sure you reward your employees for all of the hard work. Longevity and loyal employees should receive raises. Most retail environments offer bonus programs and annual raises to their staff .

    Pros

I have an outstanding retail experience.

    Cons

Full time job mean 29 hours/ week. Salary after 2 1/2 years $8.25. The prom and homecoming seasons are overwhelming. Working with short people on the floor. Absoluth no respect from the company.

    Advice to Management

Stand up for the workers. Show more respect. Keep the promises.

I worked at Camille La Vie part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The store managers are great! They're easy to approach and the associate work is easy and not stressful at all. Prom season is pretty tough, but with the right group of girls, it's pretty fun! The employee discount is really high and you can use it on top of already discounted items. Also, the store is gorgeous, so you never get too bored, even starring at dresses.

    Cons

It is a mall job, so the pay isn't amazing, but for some extra cash, it's a great gig!
