I have been working at Campbell Soup Company full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Purpose driven company with strong iconic brands. Culture of transparency and open dialogue with employees. Competitive salaries and excellent benefits. Surrounded with nothing but incredibly smart and driven individuals! Exciting projects across the organization that keep you engaged and focused. Love the dress for your day policy!!!

    Cons

There can be a fair amount of change here, must be agile and quickly adapt. You have to be self-motivated. Be ready to be part of the transformation solution and recognize it's not a place where you have a lot of resources to delegate to.

    Advice to Management

Leaders lead by example, thank you for being transparent in all communications.

"Significant lack of corporate strategy & direction is eye-opening...morale + culture is non-existent."

I worked at Campbell Soup Company full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Do you enjoy leaving work before 5pm? Taking Summer Friday's year-round? Not knowing when the next round of layoffs + corporate restructurings will happen? Then this company is right for you!

    Cons

Lack of focus and direction (especially within the Consumer Connections, Digital and eCommerce verticals) is a real painpoint and has stunted growth for many who have been leaving the company in droves for the past few years. Poor track record of retaining talent in these growth channels for the obvious reasons. Layoffs and re-structurings occurred way too frequently whenever a new regime came on-board that didn't want to inherit their predecessor's blueprint. Culture is non-existent -- ask anyone who is still employed there or have moved on. Morale is pretty low, too. This company is a dumpster fire.

    Advice to Management

Actively listen to your current employees (especially the progressive ones who understand digital/eCommerce) before they leave. The clock is ticking...literally. This was my worst career decision to come on-board here.

I have been working at Campbell Soup Company full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

401k, on-site daycare, free soup Fridays in Camden, company store on-site, on-site gym, flexibility dependent on manager

    Cons

Constantly changing strategic direction (hopefully changing now that there is a new CEO in place); company has struggled with performance; bonuses not paid out in 2018

    Advice to Management

Create strategic direction - choose a few battles to fight and stick with seeing those through vs. trying to tackle everything and accomplishing nothing

I have been working at Campbell Soup Company full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great benefits, decent brands, invested in its people (sort of), and depending on your boss - great work/life balance New CEO who's looking to shake things up

    Cons

Unless you sit in Camden, NJ or visit frequently, you'll be passed over for higher roles. Constant changing alignments and what is supposed to be done day to day with re-orgs happening every year. Innovation lacking across most brands with brand teams not willing to listen to new ideas.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your people. They know what's working and isn't working. And when you figure it out, stick to the strategy. Constant changes to strategy means constant re-work, loss of time/money, and inconsistency in how others see us. Fix innovation pipeline. Too often items are launched without any data/research to back it up why it's there in the first place, putting extra pressure on Sales teams to push out product that makes no sense to the retailer. Start with data (real data not data from a focus group of campbell's loyalists). If the idea is to present real food to real people, then we need to be real about our brands.

I worked at Campbell Soup Company full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Good Pay Structure and Great people in middle management. Great Products and brands that have been successful for years

    Cons

Handled termination of 250+ employees in an unprofessional manner. Group conference call used with little regard for the people effected. Merger with Campbell's Soup Company cut livelihoods of 250+ employees and increased stress levels for all who remained due to doubling the work load for those that were chosen to remain.

    Advice to Management

Next time get rid of a few Vice Presidents and keep the people that actually work.
