I have been working at Campbell Soup Company full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Flexible work schedules, summer Fridays, daycare and gym on-site, great brands to support, down to earth coworkers who are also friends

    Cons

Incredible uncertainty with leadership and the future of the organization. CEO left in May and while CLT has expressed that there is a unified strategy the company is working against, as a mid manager employee I do not feel that everyone is on the same page. Also, no focus on talent management. High performing employees get rewarded with more work while employees who put in the bare minimum are not held accountable. Morale has become extremely low and the work environment is toxic given the uncertainty of what will happen here in the next 6-12 months.

I have been working at Campbell Soup Company full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Great brands. Good leaders at Plants

    Cons

The Snyder’s Lance VPs and Directors recently acquired from Campbell Snacks are the D crew, the remaining Snyder’s Lance organization are shocked by the promotions of people who many thought should have been fired year ago. There is a true fear because many know of the incompetence of the recently promoted leadership of SL Snacks.

I worked at Campbell Soup Company full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Clear focus on who they are and how their products fit into the lives of their customers. The consumer is number 1 at Campbells. Food safety and quality as well as good nutrition are a solid part of the company culture. Great work environment (WHQ) Very well educated and talented staff Great diversity across the employees Most people really like working there They pay well

    Cons

Some toxic people. The company tolerates some leaders at the director level who are "players" and create a toxic work environment for some. Hierarchical and silo'd around brands. Some positions work across brands - this is what I did. It's a very large and established business, hard to turn the ship when it comes to moving faster at bringing good new products to the market.

I worked at Campbell Soup Company full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great work environment, company has invested in its facilities and culture (new gym, cafe, dress for the day, etc) Really smart and dedicated staff Beginning to think differently and diversify the business portfolio for later by term success Becoming less risk averse

    Cons

Lean org structure and annual restructuring, unprecedented turnover across all levels (especially VP and above) Serious headwinds on core business that cannot be offset by newer acquisitions Acquisition track record horrendous, Synders acquisition will prove to be a mistake. Debt levels a major challenge that is largely being ignored Decision making pushed down from leadership, many employees don’t feel empowered Private label threat off the charts in core categories Work life balance has been a challenge, asked to do more with less year after year Becoming increasingly difficult to attract and retain top talent....too much uncertainty

I worked at Campbell Soup Company full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Lots of people are genuinely nice and great to work with. Benefits and pay are decent for the hours.

    Cons

Traditional company trying to adapt both internally and externally to a changing world and often failing due to old school management. Lots of talented women and minorities overlooked for promotion in favor of white men who fit the traditional stereotype of a manager and the perpetuate old methods of doing things that don't work, but feel safe and familiar. Other talented people feel discouraged and leave.

I worked at Campbell Soup Company full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Colleagues are fantastic, dedicated & hard working people, very committed to their jobs. Company makes some incredible products, primarily in the Snacks division.

    Cons

Due to downsizing efforts driven by the parent company, Campbell's, and the recent consolidation of many functions under Campbell's, there are far fewer people, all doing the work of 3-4 people. The workpace is FRANTIC, due to the loads & expectations. As evidence of the "brain drain" from the reorganizations & overloading of existing employees, Pepperidge claims to have made an error in their 2017 bonuses, & have asked employees to pay back 11%. Their bonus calculation is so obscure that there is no way for an employee to accurately calculate their bonus & question what the company is telling them. Definitely symptomatic of a company riddled with leadership issues.

I worked at Campbell Soup Company full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Pepperidge Farm is a fair and equitable company that is competitive with their compensation to their employees as long as you achieve your objectives.

    Cons

Sometimes they set very aggressive sales goals which can be a bit out of reach but that's why they call it a bonus if you achieve your goals.
