I have been working at Campsaver.com full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great benefits such as steep discounts on gear, a flexible schedule and pleasant coworkers who are uplifting and encouraging.

    Cons

Not a secure company to work for, the turnover rate is very high because the pay is low and hours can sometimes be demanding.

    Advice to Management

Raise wages and you will see improvement in longevity and commitment of employees.

    I worked at Campsaver.com full-time

    Pros

    Good deals on camping stuff
    Outdoor Retailer tickets

    Cons

    Low pay
    HR doesn't care about problems
    No raises
    Stuck

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees more and don't assume that the deals make up for the low wages.

    I worked at Campsaver.com full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great gear discounts
    Good PTO
    Works well with schedule.
    Mario Kart for days.

    Cons

Horrible management. When the President of the company took a step down (and has left in the past few months), the corporate overlords have done nothing but strip this company and what it meant to the bare minimum.
If you aren't a head-buyer, don't consider your job meaningful.
They are a act-now, think-later type of company.
    Poor management overall.

    Advice to Management

I'm praying you figure out something. Since leaving CampSaver, I've heard former employees saying how bad things have gotten. Don't hide behind of the corporate overlords of OpticsPlanet, take control of your team and do things the way CampSaver is suppose to do things, not how OpticsPlanet wants you to do them.

    I worked at Campsaver.com full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It's in a fun industry with a few good people that work there. The President of the company who recently retired was a good guy.

    Cons

They are a very primitive company with very innexperienced executive and HR management. The management style is very dictatorial and condescending. They pay very poorly and use the excuse of getting discounts on product as to why they are well below the average wages in the valley. There are plenty of better places to work in Cache Valley.

    Advice to Management

Require management to go through 21st century Management training based on emotional intelligence. Put actual policies in place instead of just winging it when situations arise.

    Cons

You are just another cog in the machine. Training is almost non existent. They demand a lot with out much compensation.

    Cons

    -Low overall pay
    -Low starting wages
    -Extremely disorganized company
-Very poor management (especially middle management)
--- Supervisors create more problems than they solve
-No formal training or expectations set
    -Very Clique oriented
-No supervisor feedback (other than once a year in a forced review)

    Advice to Management

Start caring about ALL of your employees and value them and you may be able to start keeping people around for more than a few months.
