I have been working at Campus Management Corporation full-time for less than a year

    Pros

There is a sense of excitement at CMC these days as the company transforms not only its products, but its culture. Benefits, work-life balance are great. Management team is very accessible, including the C-level executive team. There is a real sense of team work and a sense that we are poised for growth.

    Cons

I don't have any cons so far. The onboarding was overwhelming but filled with great information.

    Advice to Management

Continue to recognize top performers, stay close to customers and to the staff who are client facing.

I worked at Campus Management Corporation full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Salaries are higher than average but not worth it with all the drama that comes with working here. Of course you meet great people giving it their all.

    Cons

Overworked staff, poor communication, terrible technology, broken promises, untamed growth, unethical sales practices, etc

    Advice to Management

Get your org together and stop trying to sell as much as you are. The results are that you overwork your staff and frustrate the client when you can’t meet expectations or deadlines.

I have been working at Campus Management Corporation full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Some talented people who care about higher education and doing the right thing - primarily in the development organization

    Cons

Culture of fear and oppression which forced the employees to focus more on managing politics than doing their jobs. Not family friendly, frequent work travel on weekends and holidays and discouraged to voice when work travel conflicts with family obligations. Frequent turnover in sales and services. No training.

I worked at Campus Management Corporation full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

There are some committed pro's in some areas that genuinely want to do good work. Company has struggled trying to serve segments outside of it's traditional base (for profit colleges). Has laid an egg with a number of traditional not-for-profit colleges trying to fit solutions in that were not designed to serve their unique needs.

    Cons

I just can't stomach anymore the "do anything to get the sale" mentality of this sales organization. The little general running sales will say anything and encourage others to say anything to get the sale. Setting up the customer relationship to fail. A culture of sales desperation that lacks both professionalism and accountability.

    Advice to Management

Install progressive, professional and relationship building sales leadership.

    Pros

They are on the ground floor of trying get into Azure and no one here knows enough about it to really know what how it works or what they are doing. That’s good and bad - the good is that you get a chance to really learn Azure if that’s what you want. The bad is that there is no real guidance if you don’t know Azure and non-technical leadership micromanages you so you can’t actually function.

    Cons

No real guidance on anything, none of the teams collaborate with each other. There are no project managers and the expectation is that you as a technical person will manage the project. Poor leadership, constantly changing methods and requirements for everything last minute w the expectation that you need to have it completed in an impossible timeframe. They set you up for failure long term and really have no idea in which direction they are going. Nothing works, because it’s not made for current tech so they just bandaid their products with bad code and ‘workarounds’ which never work properly. Leadership thinks they know everything, even tho they don’t, and don’t listen to the people they’ve hired, who are the experts in their field, to do the work to actually make any rational decision. Extreme Micromanagement!

    Advice to Management

Try to stick to a timeline and stay on track. Enforce more collaboration across teams from development outward. You hire people for their expertise, don’t discount their expertise and expect things to work when you try to implement some jerry-rigged process you know nothing about from a technical Standpoint.

    Pros

Great people and great technology. Being a partner with Microsoft is a plus too.

    Cons

Let level one support go in the US to hire cheaply in india. Partnering with Microsoft is limiting us some in the new product.
