I worked at Campus Management Corporation full-time

    Pros

The work life balance was optimal.HR was very helpful if a personal situation arose and an employee needed additional time off of work they would accommodate.

    Cons

Little Training provided on new and upcoming software releases.Often the amount of work/ accounts were not evenly distributed among all analysts. An employee can find him/her feeling overwhelmed within a short period of time.

    Advice to Management

Work on leveraging the workload among various employees. There was a high turnover rate during my employment and I believe it was partly due to employees feeling overwhelmed by the workload.

    Pros

Campus Management is a dynamic, forward-looking, and supportive place to work for hard-working, proactive, and motivated persons with demonstrated professionalism and integrity.

    Cons

Occasionally, the distribution of employees across widespread geographic and cultural boundaries imposes conditions which can jeopardize, or at least negatively impact, smooth and seamless progress in operations.

    Advice to Management

Continue to identify specialists in their respective fields with integrity, self-motivation, and a willingness to accept or drive change and improvement.

I worked at Campus Management Corporation full-time

    Pros

A great group of people that have worked there a while who hold incredible amounts of knowledge and work well to support each other.

    Cons

Because people work so hard, it is difficult to get important initiatives accomplished. Cross departmental communication is very challenging because of the incredible workload of everyone.

I have been working at Campus Management Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The current leadership embrace the latest technologies. We are constantly improving the quality of the software we create by focusing on best practices, latest proven techniques for cleaner code and loosely-coupled SOA architectures.

    Cons

I don't really have any cons about the organization. My experience at Campus so far has been extremely rewarding and allowed me to substantially grow in expertise. I have had the opportunity to work alongside very knowledgeable team members in extremely complex technical challenges.

    Pros

The people are the best part of CMC. The organization has done a lot to foster teamwork/collaboration in recent years and it's readily apparent to anyone exploring the behaviors of individuals in support of their teams in every department. Keep up the good work!

    Cons

CMC is still learning how to embrace the cultural change required to be truly agile. Engineering follows a particular agile methodology, but that's only one part of the cultural shift required to "be agile." The entire organization must transform.

    Advice to Management

Keep pushing forward with a focus on agility in its truest sense. Work to generate repeatable positive organizational behaviors/changes throughout the company.

I worked at Campus Management Corporation full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Co-workers were some of the best I've ever worked with.

    Cons

Too much turnover in executive management
Not enough investment in technology or training for existing employees
No room for growth or upward mobility
Upper management does not listen to the subject matter experts in the trenches, therefor they execute unsuccessful plans and strategies
    Absolutely NO mentoring or coaching

    Advice to Management

Stop thinking you know everything because you have a C-level or VP title. Listen to your employees and empower them to make decisions and then support them in the decisions they make by coaching them.

I worked at Campus Management Corporation full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

CMC proprietary student administrative software for colleges and universities. As a technology company and Microsoft partner, its hardware and software tools were always up-to-date.

    Cons

Inter-departmental relations were strained. Work conditions were crowded and noisy. Employees were considered expendable and easily replaced. Overtime was always expected of salaried employees. Very little company information was ever shared with rank and file.

    Advice to Management

Employee survey results and quality-circle products always fell into a black hole, so the more things changed, the more they stayed the same. If you're going to collect employee input, listen to it. Better still, involve employees in the process.
