I worked at Can Do Fitness full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Commission on each sale was average.

    Cons

The training process here is reading like a 200 page book and memorizing it. The sales manager wants you to make all these 'canned speeches to pitch to people.' Her goal is to have you drive around all day, use your own gas and money for meters (which adds up a lot by end of the month) and essentially be a flyer-hander-outer on like Nassau St. They also want you to go Door-to-Door to businesses to try and get people to come to their gym by giving free weekend passes. Most places they want you to go are like 10-15 mins away. Now while you are out of the office - the sales manager takes all the walk-ins!

They love to start you with these arbitrary sales goals that are virtually impossible to obtain, like 40 members month 1. The sales manager also loves to micro-manage your every move of each day. They also like to encourage you to come in off your off days for a few hours for your own appointments, yet not pay you OT.

    Advice to Management

Train people properly, pay them better. Don't lie at interview. Stop micro-managing.
