I worked at Canada Revenue Agency as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Decent pay, 7-4 office hrs ( working at the revenue is only good if you are not looking for a permanent job).

    Cons

Management unsupportive! Hiring or placing candidates in a pool is a joke. You have to compete with external appliacants. They will say that you did not meet at certain qualification based on the references you give them but the truth is they were never contacted. TLs are not fair in evaluating. How can they evaluate you well if they don't know what the job is ( most team leads doesn't have knowledge of the job done by the team members).

    Advice to Management

    Be fair and be supportive

I have been working at Canada Revenue Agency (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Good Wage and Good Benefits

    Cons

LOTS of nepotism. It's sad to see qualified people who deserve the job but don't get them because they are given to people with NO education or work experience because they are related to management especially at Surrey, BC location.

    Advice to Management

It's time to STOP THE NEPOTISM!! The employment rights should be followed and career opportunities should be given to the ones who deserve it.
