    Pros

Salary is about 1 1/2 times what private sector will pay (29k Private vs. 43k Public), great benefits, management will help you during family emergencies, pension is awesome

    Cons

I didn't really have any. If I had to gripe, I'd complain about the parking situation and the fact we have to PAY for parking; but on that salary I can afford it.

    Advice to Management

Continue to focus on career advancement with your teams and this will keep monotony due to the work (Collections) from creeping in. Keep being supportive on your team members as it certainly kept me motivated to great call reviews.

    Pros

Very stress free. What can't be done today, will be done tomorrow.
Being permanent allows you to float through different areas in the agency.
Two guaranteed salary increases per year.
Insane amounts of vacation, sick, personal and volunteer leave.

    Cons

Competency based Human ressource management. You cannot move up unless you pass a series of qualification tests, which are ambiguous and do not relate to the job.
Don't expect your pay to go through when you arrive. Some people wait up to 2-4 months to get their first pay due to the slow compensation area.
    Work can be painstakingly boring.

    Advice to Management

Hire people based on their performance and skills, not on an ambiguous test that does not prove any potential skills.

    Pros

Great pay, benefits and employees. Training is provided for most positions and majority of employees take pride in their work.

    Cons

Work can be monotonous and lack of recognition, from top to bottom, needs to be better demonstrated. give positions based on work, not competencies.

    Advice to Management

Talk to your employees as they are in the front line and have a wealth of experience and knowledge that can be shared. Interact with other divisions and have more on loan opportunities.
