I have been working at Canadian Tire full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Customer focused with a keen understanding in conflict resolution and customer facing operations. You have opertunity to gain high CSI scores for the store

    Cons

not enough pull to control store wide execution of customer facing operations. if you aren't in charge of all managers you will just spin your wheels and not yield CSI results you desire.

    Advice to Management

Let your customer experience managers have highest authority when it comes to customer facing operations and execution. don't let them get hen pecked by the peanut gallery...

I worked at Canadian Tire part-time

    Pros

I worked at Canadian Tire warehouse while I was going to school. They have great managers and training programs. Good place to work.

    Cons

The hours were long. Had a 10 hour shift Saturday and Sunday. Not much time to do anything after work. But it was still a great place to work while in school.

    Advice to Management

Good job keep doing what you are doing.
They kept employees updated with the State of the tire to inform employees of the company.
    Great gift boxes for Christmas.

I have been working at Canadian Tire full-time

    Pros

The company hires good people and has an amazing and supporting work culture. The profit sharing program is good for moral and keeps people motivated. The benefits are great too.

    Cons

It is a very large company, so it takes a long time to move up the ladder. Often individuals make lateral moves in order to stay in the company and not become stale. There is also a lot of office politics and internal challenges around responsibilities and project ownership.

    Advice to Management

Create mentorship programs to help younger, talented employees develop career plans so they are encouraged to remain at Canadian Tire rather than jump ship to be promoted.

I have been working at Canadian Tire full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

i think it is a good company i also believe in the company culture. i like that the company likes sports and i am proud of the sponsorships in sports, such as the olympic sponsorship, and the charity it promotes, Jumpstart.

    Cons

i believe that like many large retailers it can be difficult to adapt to change and adapt to digital and ecommerce and effectively use data analytics

    Advice to Management

canadian tire needs to do more to promote internally. additionally, they need to adapt to change and be more dynamic. people most often leave because the pay is below average, or they get frustrated with the difficulty to advance
