I have been working at Canal Insurance full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good Benefits, Gym & Clinic on site and most of the people are great to work with

    Cons

A lot of changes in all departments in the last 5-6 yrs that hasn't settled down yet. Change is good when it is done with confidence and then you have time to settle and see the marked improvement. Constant change, makes you feel like you are working in constant chaos

    Advice to Management

Listen to the people doing the work. You hired them for a reason. Communicate, communicate, communicate.

I worked at Canal Insurance full-time

    Pros

Free access to physicians and gym

    Cons

This place is dying on the vine. Just let it go already. The marketshare compared to the "good old days" when the Timmons family still provided leadership has crumbled, and while it may have inched back up a tad, this place is a has been. Sell whatever book of business is left and remember the good days.

    Advice to Management

The management team is greedy and power hungry. They don't know what they're doing and provide only lip service to the employees really doing the work. Big fish want-to be's in a tiny pond drying up by the month.

    Pros

Good Benefits.. That is all but there is a 20 word minimum.

    Cons

Favoritism, spending lots of money to expense management that failed at other insurance companies, having incompetent employees that slide by through favoritism, and many more issues but honestly it can be summed up with one statement. Terrible employee management/work environment.

    Advice to Management

Remove poor supervisors and managers who do nothing but create a dramatic and hostile work environment.

I have been working at Canal Insurance full-time

    Pros

I've been there for over 20 years and believe me when I say the PROS at this business have all left the company, some by choice and some by force. The benefits of insurance is why most stay and have so many years invested in the company. It is a real shame what the new regime has done. Lots of back stabbing in upper management and bullying to those they feel are below them.

    Cons

So many that I could go on for days and days. Just sad what the company has become. Management is so bad it is a daily struggle to just come to work here.

    Advice to Management

Look back at what the previous managers of old did and learn from it. Start cutting at the top.
