I worked at Candy Kitchen full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The two best reasons to work at Candy Kitchen are the beach atmosphere and that you get to sample all of the delicious candies and homemade fudge.

    Cons

No matter how hard you try to give great service to all your customers, THE CUSTOMER IS NOT ALWAYS RIGHT. Sometimes they forget they are on vacation and need to chill out.

    Advice to Management

Give your employees the benefit of the doubt, and stand behind your GOOD employees. Remember no matter how hard you try, you can't please all the people all the time.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Candy Kitchen part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The owners and managers treat employees like family, which makes them feel supported and compelled to work hard. Coworkers are friendly, and tasks are divided among us fairly. The job itself is fun, since you get to help and speak with happy customers - happy, of course, because they are receiving ice cream and candy!

    Cons

Not enough hours (I work about 15 hours a week), which makes it difficult to make sufficient money. As much as I like the equality, I wish hours were allocated according to personal factors - for example, if you are a college student working seasonally, you should work more than year-round high school students or older employees with second jobs.

    Advice to Management

    Update scheduling methods (see cons).
