    Pros

Only benefits are the pay and benefits.

    Cons

That being said about wages, you're going to lose your soul working here for the wages. Expect false promises, doing jobs other than what you were hired for, politics that make politicians look like soothsayers, supervisors that have nothing better to do than troll a plant looking for trouble when none is present, arbitrary decisions, lack of interest in employee's true health, verbally aggressive employees (they almost seem to hate each other, with the exception of a handful of good ones), workers that simply don't care from exposure to wood dust and 30+ years of seniority with no retirement in sight, management that favor people who work all the overtime, extremely high turn over, rookies can expect to work always on nights, misleading about vacations and contract obligations, treated like a peon and valueless person (you are replaceable), a union that doesn't always know the law and appropriate course of action to complaints (always get a second opinion from a lawyer), a discipline policy that is rigged with no recourse and no time-limit for forgiveness for infractions, extremely poor training which is unbelievable considering many workers have been there since they were young lads, language barriers and communication equipment too old to be useful to understand anything being said, militant work shifts and breaks, migration to full automation, and many, many more things that are too subjective to be useful if they had to be proven in a court of law. In general, if you are a young, healthy man, go back to school and stay far, far, far away from any mill. There is no future in this career choice.

    Advice to Management

No point giving any; not open to advice.

    Pros

Home every day good safety and training programs good benefits wages are ok time off when needed a good union with a lot of really great people in it

    Cons

There is a real culture of bullying and harassment here and management doesn't deal with it they ignore it and make excuses for this type of behaviour if you go to management about it even if other employees go to management they cover for the offender and blame you

    Advice to Management

Start doing your jobs there are times even the union has had enough of certain chronic offenders management ignores the union as well

    Pros

Good clean mill with fairly new equipment. Knowledgeable team with a lot of experience between us.

    Cons

Management does not share ideas or goals with production team or maintenance team. We are basically left in the dark until the "time comes". Little to no advance warning for large projects and horrible inventory management with parts and supplies.

    Advice to Management

Revamp the inventory and catalog it in some fashion. Indrucing SAP and fully intgrading it into the PO and work order center corroborating to the inventory would be so much better.
Share plans and details of project with the maintenance team better. Hold meetings pertaining to the reliability and performance of machines and express expectations.
