    Pros

If you have no experience, or if you are an emerging supervisor/manager, it is a good company to start with. At the site level it has a great company culture promoting inclusion. Good insurance and 401k benefits.

    Cons

Upward mobility. Because they are an outsourcing company, top position for most is site manager. Crossover to corporate positions is rare and highly coveted. Absentee area managers that don't listen nor care of your site needs. It is a "good ole boy" culture at the corporate and executive levels.

    Pros

--Your superiors have little or no idea how to manage you.
--There is no real leadership that is visible to employees.
--The print business is a sinking ship that opens up many digital doors.

    Cons

--The print business is a boat on fire sinking in the middle of a cold ocean.
--This company is a distant subsidiary of a corporate giant that was acquired 10 years ago as a separate entity... and has not produced.
--The Japanese management at this company have little regard, touch, or identity with their American subsidiaries...and consequently little idea of how to manage it.
--This is not a disability friendly company.
--This is not a company that offers opportunities to grow and be seen.
--You will never be more than an average, ubiquitous & numbered commodity here, no matter how many contributions you make, or attempt to make.

    Advice to Management

They don't speak my language, and wouldn't listen anyways.

I worked at Canon Business Process Services full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Very client centered customer service work, if you like pleasing a fixed group of people you will like the work. Clients can be great most of the time and type of work is consistent. This is office work in mail centers, copy centers, shipping centers, conference centers, reception clerks, etc. Most everything you do is scheduled so if you like routine throughout your day this is for you.

    Cons

Not a lot of opportunities to move up as this is driven by your ability to move to new sites over a long period of time. Also depends on open spots from turn over or new accounts. Unfortunately, not a lot of new sites secured in quite a few years so mobility was a bit stagnant.
Some clients will take advantage of your services and some are terribly demanding. One word from clients and you could be gone depending on situation.

    Advice to Management

Focus on growing float pool with contractors who are well trained, paid well, and brought into sites. Quality of lots of new hires was not so great.

I worked at Canon Business Process Services (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Can’t think of any. Only Pro for me was early shift (3am-12noon) and was able to go to school - and get a a degree, get a waaaay better job at a better company.

    Cons

    1. Only had a total of 90 cents increase/hour over the course of working here for more than 6 years, to the point that what I was making when I first started has reached minimum wage (since they increase every year & my paycheck doesn’t) And our site performance metrics was always good, individual performace review always 4.5+. Just plain cheap.
    2. So cheap that we are 5 in a team, and they only alloted $8/person for our “christmas lunch” every year. My manager used to cover the rest every time we went to the cheap chinese place.
    3. Horrible management. They would implement procedures that may not apply with all the sites across the country. These management people haven’t even set foot on sites and decide to implement things.
    4. Crap insurance. Must wait 90days before you qualify for insurance - cheapest for single $80 plus separate for dental & vision. And it’s crap insurance.
    5. Won’t even supply their employees with coffee.
    6. Kept a vendor because it’s in favor of one of the account managers vs keeping us instead ( account manager will lose his job if we get rid of that shipment vendor although it’s way more expensive)

    Advice to Management

Listen to the people in the sites. We know how to make the process more efficient, & you just make it more complicated. You should take care of your employees well being.

    Pros

Keep you busy, lots to learn. Over all its a good job that keeps you on your toes and very active.

    Cons

Contract job. Day to day jobs can change, staffing comes and goes so schedule is hard. There is alot to do here.

    Pros

Good starting pay and that’s it. Do not expect anything else from this company. They don’t care and they watch out for their own backs

    Cons

Where do I start, no raises, no promotions, no one is safe from work politics and being blamed for something they didn’t do.
