      Your employees need support

      Pros

Canon has brought me so many positive memories and experiences. However, it seems this new “Post-Covid” world has brought on many excuses to not support and pay employees a fair and competitive wage. See below.

      Cons

During Covid Canon was deeply impacted but we have bounced back. Post Covid it started as double the workload, then triple and now I am doing 5 past employees’ jobs. The compensation is just not worth the constant stress. As is, we are paid below market level. Cost of living is increasing and our wages are staying stagnant. This has come to a point where moral is too low. Annual merit increases are terrible. If I was running this company, I would look around and ask why there is so much money being spent on employee turnover. It’s because the wages along with the stress aren’t worth it anymore. Canon would increase profit so much by assessing why so many employees are leaving and making changes. We thought that would come in early 2021 but merit increases were consistently low. Salaries need to be raised across the board. Employees would be willing to put in more quality work if they felt they were fairly being compensated. This is a real problem.

Once a great company, now an empty shell...

      Pros

Nice building (with plenty of empty parking spaces, empty walking trails, and empty desks). Looks great on your resume.

      Cons

Canon products are no longer relevant in the market. The company is led by risk adverse lawyers and accountants with no vision for the future. Visionaries do not exist at Canon.

      Disappointing

      Pros

Good benefits. 401K matching plan. Two days at the office and Three days at home (Since July 2021) Prestigious company Good for your resume.

      Cons

They don't care about employees. They like to say they do, but they don't. No opportunities to grow. Almost Zero. All opportunities are mainly for members from Japan. New management/bosses every two or three years, then you have to start from scratch... Any progress made goes to waste every time a new boss comes along. Most managers are from Japan. Culture of the company is not good. INSANE amount of work. Too much effort and extra hours just to finish the minimum things. Not possibilities to learn more or excel since you are trapped by just doing the basic stuff. Management is not good at all. Employees are just numbers. When they want they just give you more responsibilities or more work with no opportunities to negotiate salary.

      Pros

-I worked with a great team with a great boss. My boss made sure we were heard and was willing to fight for the team when he thinks we are wrongfully blamed - Nice building, clean facility, good walking trail - On-site gym is great but tiny

      Cons

      - Subtle sexist remarks from upper management - Very few women got into leadership positions - Pay was below average - For a technology/innovation-based company, they do not like taking risks and wait until a competitor does it first - Promotions are rare. Expect to work with the same title with sub-average merit increase for the next 10 years. I was lucky enough to have had a boss fight for my promotion.

      Pros

The paid was fair. The products are know to the market, making easier to sell. My commute was very short.

      Cons

There was lots of pressure to sell. Too many silos where department don't work with each other. Too much needless paper work

      Pros

Colleagues are great and work well together. Work environment aren’t bad either.

      Cons

Always adding more work without getting recognized monetary. Raises are steady but doesn’t justify the added work given.
