I have been working at Capgemini full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Pay is decent, benefits are pretty good
    - Large company so lots of projects/clients (if you network well you can get on an interesting one), most people in consulting industry know company name, helpful when considering future employers
    - Usually get to travel (decide whether this is a pro or con for you)

    Cons

    - Terrible culture for young people, only true company-wide "fun" event is the Christmas party (which they conveniently left a ton of people off the invite list for...)
    - Tough to grow personally and professionally, no good culture of mentorship or guidance from the senior members, very much a "do as you are told" culture
    - Not a lot of young people/fun in the company in general, end up working on tons of projects where 80% of the team is older (Indian) men with no interest of doing anything besides work
    - Company is huge (close to 200k employees) and easy to get lost in the hierarchy / structure, hard to get your name out there as a young person, only senior members get any significant benefits from bonuses / accolades for successful project completion
    - You're screwed if you have an issue and need HR support to fix it, team is slow and seemingly inept sometimes. Seem to make up their own guidelines along the way
    - Internal systems are horrible and will make your eyes bleed. For an IT consulting company, you would expect much better. Expense reimbursements are slow and can cause you to dip into your savings to pay off your credit cards while you wait for $

    Advice to Management

If you are looking to succeed in the long-term future, create a culture for young people. Too much young talent is leaving the company after the first 2 years. Let the bottom line play second fiddle for a bit so you can accrue and keep talent and make them happy.

    Pros

Freedom to wok with Client and Architects

    Cons

Poor Offshore support. No Management focus on delivery.
Some of the managers had no clue of the environment they are supposed to manage and believed in staying 'on the fence' most of the times.

I have been working at Capgemini full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - You work with lots of different people with lots of different perspectives
    - Decent benefits

    Cons

    - you're on your own for a career path
     - you constantly have to sell yourself for new projects - lots of turnover
     - no feeling of "togetherness" or "Team" - everyone is out for themselves

    Advice to Management

    - Attract and retain better quality CLIENTS
    - Decide of you're going to be a low cost provider or niche player - you can't do both
    - Devote more time and resources tot he development of your employees and DON'T make them feel bad about using developmental resources, especially if you want them to stay

I worked at Capgemini full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There is a strong focus on client service. Some ongoing training is provided. The professional staff are generally smart and capable.

    Cons

The internal technology is lacking and not modern. There is inadequate integration between Capgemini FSGBU and the overall Capgemini organization. Not enough attention is placed on staffing client engagements with the optimal professionals for the requirements and scope. I saw a tendency to fill project roles with someone with some relevant experience; but not necessarily the best person to fill the role.

    Advice to Management

Improve all aspects of the technology provided to client service professionals. Improve time reporting to be inclusive of all hours worked; not just entering 8 hours per day. Improve the process for approval of travel, time & expense submissions, etc. so that it is not so cumbersome.
