I worked at Capgemini full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I had a great experience at Capgemini.
    - Pay is at par with the current market standards.
    - Good work life balance with work from home option (in my project).
    - Nice projects and approachable HR.

    Cons

    - Too many employees at the same designation creates intense competition

    Advice to Management

    Hire less but quality people.

I have been working at Capgemini full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    -Good health benefits
-Good place for entry level professionals right out of college, I recommend only staying for a year and then high tail it out of there
    -Social activities (more rare nowadays)

    Cons

-401k match is awful and can easily be beat at another company
-Don' let the average salary on here fool you, most consultants make way less unless they really fight for a salary increase, even then, they have limits
-If you are on the bench for a certain period of time (on average 6 months) you're getting laid off, I recommend looking for a new job the second you get on the bench
-Too much corporate politics, most people will not get timely promotions because they are competing against too many people who may actually be less deserving
-The company sometimes likes to run like a fraternity, I've seen employees who are absolutely horrid at their job get promotions because they know someone (i.e. a fraternity brother)
-Sometimes the project you work on will screw you over
-The company looks at you like a number on a spreadsheet. If you are on the bench too long, goodbye, if you have a bad performance review rating, goodbye. They don't care about your personal experience once you begin with the company.
-They are steering away from traveling projects, so if you're promised a lot of travel, good luck! It won't likely happen anymore.

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring a lot of people at once, just to lay them off in a year or less! The company is not keeping up with the market and is in turn not getting as many deals as they should be. There is no innovation. You claim you care about your people, but regularly lay people off right before Christmas!

I have been working at Capgemini part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexible work schedules and telecommuting opportunities

    Cons

Reductions in force have reduced morale and effectiveness

    Advice to Management

Need to balance bottom line with delivery excellence. I understand the need to reduce cost but this should not come at the expense of quality of delivery. I've worked for Capgemini for seven years, morale is lower now than it's ever been. You need to address this.
