I have been working at Capgemini full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very good dental and vision insurance, medical is very crappy and expensive

    Cons

No opportunity for advancement, No incentives or bonuses, No matter if you have experience or not it doesn't affect your paygrade

    Advice to Management

Management needs to be truthful about the business and not instruct people to put on a show for the clients. They also need to reconsider how the employees are paid. You should be paid according to experience, degree, skills obtained

    Pros

    allowed to listen to music

    Cons

low salary, low raises, only bonuses to upper management, low paid time off allowance. Receive 10 sick days per year, but receive occurrences when used which leads to disciplinary actions.

    Advice to Management

pay employees, or don't take away paid time off.

I have been working at Capgemini full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Pay is decent, benefits are pretty good
    - Large company so lots of projects/clients (if you network well you can get on an interesting one), most people in consulting industry know company name, helpful when considering future employers
    - Usually get to travel (decide whether this is a pro or con for you)

    Cons

    - Terrible culture for young people, only true company-wide "fun" event is the Christmas party (which they conveniently left a ton of people off the invite list for...)
    - Tough to grow personally and professionally, no good culture of mentorship or guidance from the senior members, very much a "do as you are told" culture
    - Not a lot of young people/fun in the company in general, end up working on tons of projects where 80% of the team is older (Indian) men with no interest of doing anything besides work
    - Company is huge (close to 200k employees) and easy to get lost in the hierarchy / structure, hard to get your name out there as a young person, only senior members get any significant benefits from bonuses / accolades for successful project completion
    - You're screwed if you have an issue and need HR support to fix it, team is slow and seemingly inept sometimes. Seem to make up their own guidelines along the way
    - Internal systems are horrible and will make your eyes bleed. For an IT consulting company, you would expect much better. Expense reimbursements are slow and can cause you to dip into your savings to pay off your credit cards while you wait for $

    Advice to Management

If you are looking to succeed in the long-term future, create a culture for young people. Too much young talent is leaving the company after the first 2 years. Let the bottom line play second fiddle for a bit so you can accrue and keep talent and make them happy.

    I worked at Capgemini full-time

    Pros

Capgemini is a global technology consulting company. Overall you will be able to start your career and develop many consulting skills.

    Cons

Depending on the division you are in Capgemini you can have a better experience. I was part of one of the many adquisition but unfortunately I believe this adquisition was mismanaged. The studio was never able to make a good transition into the Capgemini corporate culture. The managers of the studio where way over their head and only paid attention to their own growth. Many of the resources that where part of the adquisition left the company and the studio never grew. Many of the projects where miss managed and estimated incorrectly that turned into working long hours for extended period of times. Bottom line Capgemini is been compaseted for all extra hours you work and you will never receive compensation. The time you inver will never get it back.

    Advice to Management

Management should invest more on their people and allow them to grow in the company.

    Pros

If you like traveling, hotel points, airline points, then this is the job for you.

    Cons

Not a great place to develop your career. Your mentors will most likely leave for another company or will provide little guidance as they are too busy in their projects.

    Advice to Management

Invest in developing young talent through unique initiatives rather then just throwing them on a project to increase revenue.

I worked at Capgemini full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Not many I can think of. The experience seems very dependent on location and service line. The three week on-boarding experience was nice though.

    Cons

    - Felt like I was a number, not a person
    - Mid level management was highly unprofessional
    - Don't expect them to keep their word to you, it will always be about their benefit first
