I worked at Capgemini full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If you like traveling, hotel points, airline points, then this is the job for you.

    Cons

Not a great place to develop your career. Your mentors will most likely leave for another company or will provide little guidance as they are too busy in their projects.

    Advice to Management

Invest in developing young talent through unique initiatives rather then just throwing them on a project to increase revenue.

I have been working at Capgemini full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's literally your average desk job (if that's what you're looking for); unique puzzle solving w/ claims review. They allow you to listen to music (headphones) while you work to increase focus and decrease distractions and talking among coworkers.

    Cons

Too much control; virtually no talking allowed w/ other coworkers whatsoever; closely monitored breaks/lunches and production numbers. You work for a client in the same building as you - so everyone from Cap including your managers must constantly be on their best behavior; very strict overall; rigid work environment

    Advice to Management

Accept suggestions from your inferiors. Make them feel like they're at least somewhat part of the decision making process. Don't treat us like children and micro-manage every single little thing.

    Pros

Good place to start your career, but sometimes there is not enough work to go around. great people in a mostly relaxed work environment. variety of work, but most related to IT implementations.

    Cons

not respected in the consulting world. mainly IT implementation work. you become a jack of all trades but master of none if this your first job out of school.

    Advice to Management

As of late, there have been many lay-offs with little to no warning, mainly at the manager level and up. It should be made more obvious when the business isn't doing well because there is no work in the pipeline. Also, don't hire so many staff consultants out of college when there are already many people on the bench.
