I have been working at Capita full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

nice office, different campaigns, good canteen, lots of opportunity

    Cons

very much like every other outsourcer. They have silly rules and regulations, they change shifts at last minute, you're just another number and so the work life balance isn't great.

    Pros

None.. dont go to this place.. recruitment bunch off liars and insult your intelligence.

    Cons

If you want paid correctly dont work here. If you want conned then work here. Week 1 and 2 lied to tild getting paid for 40 hrs never did got 37.5..costs 5p per min to call payroll.. never got pay in lie off notice had to threaten them with acas. Last wage had a 25 deduction challenged them on this got it eventualy.. formal complaint raised about being lied to at interview no reply... this shambolic lot do not care!

    Advice to Management

Resign the lot off you! Disgusting and you simply do not care!

I worked at Capita (More than a year)

    Pros

Good stepping stone, friendly and supportive teams, good balance with work and life

    Cons

don't believe them when they make you promises, management don't care about staff hence high staff turnaround and letting the good folk go

    Advice to Management

That's if they will ever take any. Capita do not value their staff and always mess them about, unless you're higher up on the pyramid. One of the worst things is by wasting staff time by offering interviews to give them a false sense of hope about a job where they already know who they wanted from the beginning. I left well over a year ago, and before I left I was told there will be loads of opportunities. One year on, I hear people leaving and also getting made redundant. Capita broke my self confidence and pride, and nothing will change that. I hope whoever is reading this and looking to join capita or already with them to be very vigilant (unless you're happy). Don't fall for their traps, or anyone's. One or two who are favoured over you will throw you under a bus for them to step up.

I worked at Capita full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

none zero as you are treated like 3rd class person conpared to satff on old three contracts who get better shifts longer lunch breaks and higher bonus structure.

    Cons

during training they tell you that you will be paid for 40 hours per week then after 3 weeks they say it was changed to 37.5 hours but nobody tells trainer!
    on a 10.5 hr shift you get 2x 15mins break, 1 x 10 mins and 1 x 30 mins lunch!
your contract says 1 weeks notice is required but when you leave on agreement they claim they are not paying you for this notice after it clearly states in contract.
I have taken advise from acas who have said that if you have 1 weeks notice and not required to work this you are entitles to the notice in lieu!

lies to at interview stage was told customer service billing position when its sales!

    Advice to Management

total disaster in communication nobody takes responsibility so many claim they do not have responsilibity to call payroll costs 5p per min and they say to call a diffrent numver for hr issues and guess what that number is recruitment!
blind leading the blind and gross disreguard for contracts!

I worked at Capita full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Work-life balance, flexibility, that is about it. The people are good but after a while you need to look after yourself and leave

    Cons

The joining wage stays the same, horrible management, force changes down your throat or ask you to quit in a nice way. No payrise, no bonus, constant change to managers, always ignoring what you have to say

    Advice to Management

Listen to the staff, reward when required. Promote within and give a fair wage, 10% increment is absolutely rubbish. Sack incompetent managers who can't even lead a meeting.

    Pros

About what you'd expect from an outsource customer service job. The clients are decent and the targets aren't too difficult.

    Cons

Fairly skilled work by customer service standards, management can be a little work shy at times.

    Advice to Management

Focus on retaining the talented employees rather than hiring new people after the attrition rates get too bad.
