    Pros

Capita is likely to recruit you if you have the basic skills and willingness to learn quickly. There are also many opportunities to progress up the company

    Cons

High staff turnover. You end up feeling like a small fish in a big ocean! The staff turn over is very high, teams are constantly changing

I have been working at Capita full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Nationwide presence. Good flex-benefits options. CEO leaving. Good HR admin systems. Generally friendly people. Good CBTs.

    Cons

Low salaries. No performance-related incentives, bonuses or pay-rises. Operates in silos. Poor cost-benefit analysis over implementing travel bans and budgetary cuts whose impact on staff was disproportionate to factional savings. Also inconsistently enforced controls/governance.

    Advice to Management

Appoint an external CEO. Push harder to consolidate business units. Enforce one-Capita culture whereby internal suppliers are no longer mercenary or barriers to doing business and making money for Capita.

I have been working at Capita full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A global corporation with a variety of Businesses and service lines under it's umbrella, with a real mixture of industries.
Lots of internal vacancies to support career development.
Many offices around the UK to reduce travel.

    Cons

Cost focused rather than client, customer or employee focused.
Due to the size of the business, easy for people with the incorrect behaviours and skill level to do their job.

    Advice to Management

Listen to staff and the results of the employee survey to ensure the business changes support the people culture

    Cons

    Micromanaged to the max!
Poor Bonus Scheme - Nothing to motivate you to go above and beyond
    Insulting "Pay Rises"
Job appears to get less rewarding the longer you're there

    Advice to Management

Recognise and reward employees, Staff turnover is high, do something to keep the good employees happy.

I have been working at Capita full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The location of my office from my home is 10 mins away. My colleagues that I work with make my job more enjoyable.

    Cons

The lack of opportunities to move up the ladder is challenging. The micromanagement culture is very discouraging and does not allow any flexibility to be innovative and make your own decisions.

    Advice to Management

For a leader to get the best of your team you should treat them fairly, equally and with respect.

I have been working at Capita full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Big company so there is a potential to grow your career here. They have bigger projects which are more challenging to work on, this can lead to good skills development. Also as they are a large company they have a great benefits package.

    Cons

The management is very messy, departments are working independently of each other, most projects are delivered late and they are often under resourced. It is stressful to work here due to the poor management, which is the trade-off of working in a larger company.

    Advice to Management

You are very inefficient, this has actually been recognised by the ‘higher-ups’ but not much has been done about it so far. The staff turn-over rating is on the high side which isn’t helping.
