I have been working at Capital City Bank full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The environment is really nice in Bank Direct. Not necessarily the fact that we're on the second floor with no windows, but everyone at the office is nice. That's one thing CCB says, you can't teach nice and so that's who they hire: Nice people. I enjoy the company's culture and values. It's an accommodating place. They really seem to listen to our input and are always allowing room to improvement. The benefits are good. For someone without a degree, this is one of the best places I've worked so far.

    Cons

The pay probably isn't as competitive as other places. There seems to be a different standard at the offices than at the service center. It's hard to communicate with anyone, hardly anyone seems to care enough to respond when you're trying to give your client the best possible service. A call center isn't the most enticing place to work, and it takes a certain kind of person to be able to handle the stress. Personally, I don't like the SELL SELL SELL mentality. I don't like the pressure. But there are competitive people who enjoy stuff like that, I'm just not one of them. There's not a lot of room for advancement in Bank Direct, but at least the vast amount of knowledge you end up accumulating makes you a desirable candidate for other positions.

    Advice to Management

Try and get the offices to see the bigger picture and not view themselves as islands. We're all one group trying to achieve the same thing. Increasing pay isn't a terrible idea, it's likely that the bigger banks are stealing your best associates.
