I worked at Capital One part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This place is a great place to work. Management was great and very helpful on giving feedback in places I could do better. They were also very flexible with the hours I was able to work. I was in college and in some after school clubs, so this was very helpful.

    Cons

Branches can be very slow sometimes

    Advice to Management

None, Keep up the good work!

I worked at Capital One part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Thorough 2 week program
    - A business based on moral & excellence
    - Exceptional Hiring Managers/recruiters

    Cons

    - Excessive thoroughness in training (almost exhausting - multiple online and in class courses that were almost pointless, redundant and so lengthy and even illegible to the point where I forgot 85% of it once I finished)
    - Intake training lacks structure and capable management
    - Poor technological advancement and funding in the workplace. Multiple money counters that were so old that you had to reinsert cash like 5 times to properly use. Never had this problem at Chase as they always had updated, state of the art equipment.
    - Poor commandatory and interpersonal skills of management towards employees
    - Online interview process was a bit excessive.

    Advice to Management

    - When picking managers please take into account their people skills and ability to better their employees. I'd unfortunately have to say my experience with multiple supervisors were poor and made my job less enjoyable. I even had to take on the responsibility of my own manager at some point. Ridiculous.

I have been working at Capital One part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Benefits, help you to grow within the company

    Cons

Too focused on banking metrics, lack of consistency, not as technologically advanced as other banks

    Advice to Management

Stop being so concerned with the next banking trend like "moments that matter." Live those moments every day instead of wasting time writing emails about them.

I worked at Capital One full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Flexible Hours
    Lovely Pay
    Easy work

    Cons

    Constant rule changes
    Favoritism at certain branches

    Advice to Management

Treat everyone equally. We understand you're the boss, but we are all still human and have situations that occur. Be more sensitive towards your employees.

    Pros

My manager and some co-workers were great, hours aren't bad. PTO is pretty good, and benefits were pretty inexpensive.

    Cons

There are no longer full-time tellers being hired, so if you get hired part-time don't think you'll get a chance to go full-time. Also, the teller position is being phased out as the select service center model is being adapted to most, if not all, regions. In my branch, my schedule changed constantly. There was no way to make plans for my days off because they could change, and even as a part-time worker I had to schedule my life around this job. Lead Tellers have attitude problems and are passive aggressive.

Guests in my area are privileged and refuse to show ID to a new person. Get used to that.

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring tellers if you know you're going to end up letting them go. I quit because of other situations, but that is still an issue.

I have been working at Capital One part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great pay, benefits and incentives

    Cons

Depending on which branch you work in, a lot of greeting in the lobby and selling unnecessary products

    Advice to Management

Listen to what employees have to say

    Pros

Loved my co-workers. Supervisors were mostly helpful. Had great conversations with customers. Pay was phenomenal for that time in my life. Pay increases can be expected if bargained for.

    Cons

Was forced to pretend I cared about customers and ask them about their lives. Felt forced. If you didn't get a particular number of referrals per week you would get cited. Always on your feet.

    Advice to Management

    None

    Pros

Flexibility and scheduling. This job made it possible for me to attend school full time without much interruption. The branch management team was great.

    Cons

Referral goals are very annoying. The change in the bonus payout sucked. Hire people who are competent. Tellers don't f

    Advice to Management

Talent acquisition should be a primary focus. You should also consider a market rate adjustment for the teller who have been with the firm for a long time. They bring experience.

    Pros

Ladership are great mentors and they do teach you alot. Very helpful with making sure you have the tools to be the best at your job.

    Cons

Sometimes leadership would be too personal and bring that negative energy to work. Management was very dictator like, and the district manager is just as bad.

    Advice to Management

Please choose your leadership better, especially when an employee is voicing there opinion to district management and they feel comfortable dont go back and tell what was talked about. Very Unprofessional
