    Pros

You get to really make resume look great. Awesome team engagements. They want you to succeed as much as possible.

    Cons

People can be fake as hell. There are many a times you'll notice favorites and lack of attention from your management.

    Advice to Management

Be in the Cafe/bank more often. Find better ways to boost team morale.

I worked at Capital One full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits. Committed to industry disruption.

    Cons

Regulated as a bank, which frequently conflicts with their ability to change and implement. It results in frequent reworking and trashing of projects. Sometimes that includes drastic measures including employee terminations. In general, new employees seem to get treated better than existing.

    Advice to Management

Commit to employee investment with the same passion you commit to industry disruption.

I have been working at Capital One full-time

    Pros

Company benefits are pretty decent. You receive 15 days of PTO after 90 days of hire, but FMLA, STD and job protection benefits are not available until after your first year. They have a company gym at the cost of $15.00 per pay period, and Anthem benefits are available at the date of hire. Tuition reimbursement is also available at the time of hire. Work-Life balance is manageable, and if you're looking for a start up career out of college, it's a good fit.

    Cons

Although the benefits package is decent, the compensation aspect is lacking.

    Pros

The atmosphere is great, with highly energized individuals. Training is great, and the company is young and encourages people to grow within the company.

    Cons

The salary could be a bit higher, for bankers especially. Given that the company is so young, do not expect the same salary matches as bigger firms, such as Chase, or Bank of America.

    Advice to Management

Have more open dialogue with the banking team. Allowing input and more team meetings will allow many issues to be addressed.

    Pros

It is a good place to learn the things and can share the knowledge.

    Cons

Has to commit to our work as per the project.

Not an issue for this reviewer but you have to be ready for the fast paced environment.

I have been working at Capital One full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Benefits culture and pay. Capital One will wine and dine you very well. Lots of trips to Richmond for training as well as company fun events and corporate outings.

    Cons

Treats new hires better than old hires. Performance management system is also outdated. Rewards blow heads over people doing actual work.

    Advice to Management

    Treat older hires better

I have been working at Capital One full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    •EXTREMELY DIVERSE COMPANY
•Hire for positions from within first.
•Really cares about the well being of the employees
•management builds relationships with employees which creates trust, open communication, and a comfortable work atmosphere

    Cons

    •I personally HATE paperwork. Lol
•Sometimes policies aren't black and white, they are case by case. Can be confusing for anyone new to banking
•bonuses are based on a district average of the customer suvey satisfaction. Not fair at sll because you may get perfect suveys all quarter but some person/branch miles way to with low survey scores can prevent you from getting the bonus you deserve.

    Advice to Management

Bonuses should be measured individually or by branch. It is not fair that a branch 50 miles away can keep me from getting a bonus when my branch has a high customer service satisfaction rate.

I have been working at Capital One full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good work culture. Expectations are based on productivity not working a lot of hours.

    Cons

Poor manager experience, my expectations were based on if I was already an experienced employee, not for a new employee. Training sessions were helpful but often were not held until after I already had to learn the skill for the job.
