I worked at Capital Restaurant Concepts full-time

    Pros

Great opportunities, some bonuses on parties that you book for a particular restaurant within the company

    Cons

Don't usually pay they're vendor bills on time, and don't spend a lot of money on obvious repairs for certain restaurants, which makes it hard to do your job

    Advice to Management

Know that you will have to find ways to work around certain issues yourself, cause the company is very, very, very tight on money.

I worked at Capital Restaurant Concepts full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Fantastic variety of concepts. Accessible corporate office. Chef driven company that allows managers to be creative and to grow.

    Cons

Company founder moved on to open his own place and they stopped caring about their teams and their buildings. Most of the long term leadership left and then they fired the rest leaving no one who knew how to run anything

    Advice to Management

Become about your people again and they will be loyal to you!

I worked at Capital Restaurant Concepts part-time

    Pros

    Short hours, high-pay (through tips).

    Cons

Disorganized, very little management, unprofessional at times.

    Advice to Management

    More rules, more structure.

I have been working at Capital Restaurant Concepts (More than 3 years)

    Pros

In the beginning this was a premier restaurant group great systems and organization great managers and staff.

    Cons

Now theres a Challenge for some reason CRC just can't hold onto the magic of old!

    Advice to Management

Bring systems with you that work focus on outreach and bringing in repeat guests .... Don't look to settle there something always seems to go wrong! Paul Cohn is no longer CEO; hence the unpredictable culture!

I worked at Capital Restaurant Concepts full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I love the location of the company.

    Cons

Should listen to all suggestions and ideas from employees not just corporate.

I worked at Capital Restaurant Concepts full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The staff members at the restaurant level and lower were what made this job enjoyable.

    Cons

Checks bounced, owners/managers had a lack of concern for employees, and there was no overtime pay for wait staff who worked over 40 hours every week. Additionally, they lay off by attrition through rearranging schedules, making undue requests of long time workers or they just board up the restaurant and lay us all off as they did at JPauls Baltimore.

    Advice to Management

Your people ensure your product and profits remain; caring more about us than your pocketbooks would help.

    Pros

Just like with most companies, you get out of it what you put in. I experienced success with this company because of the hours I put in.

    Cons

CRC is fairly demanding so if you're not prepared to put in the hours or the work than this is not the company for you.

I worked at Capital Restaurant Concepts full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

There are enough units, their checks never bounce and they have been around for awhile. There are certain individuals that make the entire company run.

    Cons

Corporate has too much control. Individual unit managers seem powerless to do what they want/need to do. Accountants should never run restaurants.

    Advice to Management

Attention should be given more to training
