Let your full times employees work less weekends if staffing allows. Part time employees should be able to work less days per week and longer hours.

If you are interested in being micromanaged and work with managers that don't stand up for employees, this branch is the place for you.

    Pros

They hired me while I was still in high school. The people were supportive and friendly. Over the summers I worked there many of the middle managers had opportunities to move up the ladder into other areas and many of the long time employees at lower levels got hired into those slots.

    Cons

A bit micromanaged. You had to put your phone in a cubby. No internet access during breaks unless you had a smart phone. You were allowed to listen to music, but not audio books (???).

I have been working at Capitol Federal Financial full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Flexible schedule
    Bank is very solid financially

    Cons

Low pay and poor benefits, career advancement is minimal. IT department is mismanaged and could use a restructure.

    Advice to Management

Review the pay structure and benefits. It is hard to retain good employees. Also look for additional ways to grow the bank. Don't be scared of growth. Talented employees are leaving due to the lack of growth. Reevaluate some upper management, especially in IT.

I worked at Capitol Federal Financial (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Work is straight forward. Love interaction with customers

    Cons

The company will not grow due to fear of more bank regulation. The Consumer Financial Protection agency is often mentioned. Thus, not long term promotion possibilities.

    Advice to Management

Run you company like it is a winner. Don't be afraid to grow.

    Pros

Capfed is a great company to work for. Management really cares about their employees, if invested in the company for 3+ years you are fully vested in capfed stock. Easy to move up in company.

    Cons

The biggest issue for me is the in-store locations. If you are in management you have a horrible schedule. The hours are long and you don't get much of a social life.

    Advice to Management

Change in-store hours. Saturday hours would be perfect at 9-3 or 10-4... there is no need to be open until 6. And Sunday hours 10-2... We would really like NOT working in the middle of our day.
