I worked at Car-Freshner Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

On site Cafe and gym, many wonderful co-workers,

    Cons

This is a toxic work environment that trickles down from the very top. Watching employees come and go at a rapid rate creates mistrust and eventually sucks the joy out of coming to work.

    Advice to Management

The atmosphere of uncertainty and the devaluation of employees starts at the very top of the food chain. You will not get the best from your employees when they feel they are not secure in their job.

    Pros

Overall it is a great place to work, there is a good opportunity for exposure to many areas of the business.
Amazing Benefit Package and perks!!! Balanced work-life. Very respectful and professional environment. Management values employees opinion and encourage participation. Compensation is fair for the area. Annual increases are provided to employees based on their evaluation. CFC gives students the opportunity to learn the business and even get hire through the internship program. CFC also invest in the community and promote a healthy living.

    Cons

Watertown is a small town, with long winters.

    Advice to Management

Continue to develop talent, believe in your employees and to invest in the community.

    Pros

Great health benefits, 401K, free gym membership, free coffee all day long. A lot of downtime which is nice.

    Cons

Very high employee turnover. Average is around 5-6 salary employees per month leave voluntarily or involuntarily. Pay is from the 1990's compared to other organizations similar in size and income. No direction especially in manufacturing department. Leadership seems to be non existent throughout the company. Same mistakes repeat on almost monthly basis costing the company millions in lost revenues every year. Owner gets lied to on regular basis which seems to be a norm.

    Advice to Management

If you keep doing what you are doing this company will cease to exist 3-5 years from now.

    Pros

Great benefits - 401K with profit sharing and match, health/dental/vision insurance, daycare reimbursement/assistance, education reimbursements, gym membership and onsite gym, annual increases, Holiday bonus, Thanksgiving gift cards, company picnic with lots of prizes to win, recognition gifts and dinner for 5 year anniversaries.

    Cons

Small community and a bad comment can go along way.

    Advice to Management

Remember to treat others with respect and trust, share with them, they are part of the team.

Advice to Employees - Be grateful, smile, push yourself to take on new and exciting tasks that's what will help you make your role noted. Don't undervalue the company and the benefits it provides, communicate to management on how to make things better. If you aren't willing to try then you can't complain that things aren't changing.

    Pros

    On-site gym, close to home

    Cons

If you suck up to management, you're golden, even if you suck at your job. If you don't suck up, no matter how well you do your job, you will never advance.

    Advice to Management

Promote employees on what they do, not who they do.

    Pros

Great work environment that encourages growth. Feels very stongly about family-work life balance. Has great benefits, 401k, vacation, sick, Flex, day care, fitness membership, medical, dental and vision and an awesome tuition reimbursement program.

    Cons

    Can't think of any cons.

    Advice to Management

Continue pushing employees to better themselves and be free thinkers.

I have been working at Car-Freshner Corporation (More than 10 years)

    Pros

401k, medical, life insurance, vacation and sick time. 4 -10hr days. Christmas bonus, milestone years bonus.

    Cons

Drama, favoritism, disrespect, no appreciation, no room to grow, they can fire you for no reason and they have. They promote brown nosers not hard workers. I see on the other reviews talk of free coffee and fruit, well the grunts in the plant get NOTHING FREE!!!

    Advice to Management

Appreciation goes a long way, I have seen this company go from a wonderful family to a life sucking hole . People are treated better in prison, while corporate gets free coffee we are forced to work in a sweat shop with no fans allowed, only water but no coolers or lunch bags allowed on the floor to keep the water cold. Cameras everywhere! This company will spend money on a walking path shaped like a tree or heated sidewalks at the corporate building but cannot fix our machines. Also I feel it is very disrespectful for a member of upper management especially the owner to observe a machine but not one time address the workers a simple hi would be fine. Talk to your employees ask them what they think can be improved before making changes that will effect them. Rethink your supervisors. They are not respected and for good reasons. I have seen when this company was awesome but now its awful.

    Pros

Good benefits, free gym membership, along with in house gym, free fruit and free coffee.

    Cons

Unstable work environment. Mediocre salary, Third generation owner fires employees, long time and new at the drop of a hat.

    Advice to Management

Instead of coveting your world class talent; appreciate the employees that have given you their lives and brought you where you are today. Let your managers manage their teams and stop micromanaging.
