    I worked at Caradigm full-time

    Pros

Flexible hours, allows work from home, good pay.

    Cons

Lots of internal fights between teams. Management prefers to hide issues rather than correct them.

    Advice to Management

    Start listening to your employees.

I have been working at Caradigm full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Solid product stack, hard working and intelligent people, sincere desire to do the right thing for customers. With the right strategy / direction I believe the company can do well - however it will have to weather some significant challenges in both organization as well as marketplace.

    Cons

Lack of a clear strategy from parent company (GE) about where Caradigm fits makes it difficult for Caradigm to determine how best to support. Inconsistent leadership quality and lack of accountability hurts company's ability to execute quickly and effectively. It seems leadership / HR are unaware / unwilling to discuss personnel career growth goals.

    Advice to Management

Figure out what GE wants from Caradigm - build Caradigm to suit. Be honest with employees about the future direction of the company so they can gain back some control of their careers. Ensure that all departments are held to the same standards and that everyone is pulling in the same direction.

    Pros

Good compensation package, work is on and off.
    Some interesting work going on.

    Cons

Very top-down approach to design and development. You are supposed to shut up and do what you are told.
No long term goals that I can see. Very reactive. Some nepotism.

I have been working at Caradigm full-time

    Pros

Amazingly intelligent and dedicated ICs, interesting space, flexibility, good office location. Pay and benefits OK compared to other local opportunities.

    Cons

Strategy and leadership. There is none. In the past 6 months, the strategy has gone from "develop PopHealth products" to "make money," mostly by cutting costs or committing to big deals we are not staffed to deliver. The CEO is completely reactive and throwing one thing at the wall after another to see what sticks. Attrition without backfilling is stressing much of the workforce, No one in SLT seems to have any clue how to fix these problems..

    Advice to Management

This is obviously a make or break year for the company. Be honest about what's going on with employees. They all talk among themselves anyway.

Pick one big customer or market segment and go after it hard. Drop everything else. For example, do we want to focus on US or UK?

There needs to be someone on the SLT with a vision and pulse on where the market will go in 5 years.

I have been working at Caradigm full-time

    Pros

Flexible work time, some great people to work with, interesting field to learn.

    Cons

Becoming a rudderless boat, with no concrete direction. CEO changes course and is too reactive. Upper management is also flailing, with split-second decisions made without properly thinking through the practical implications. Turf wars, and management not realizing about how their decisions (or lack thereof) are impacting employee morale. High rate of attrition is the elephant in the room that no one wants to talk about.

    Advice to Management

Don't be afraid to talk about the tough stuff. Treat employees like intelligent counterparts. They are observant and hear the discourse - they're not stupid.

    Positive Outlook

    Pros

Caradigm is making difficult decisions to put the company on a path towards profitability. This is a byproduct of maturing beyond a "startup", investing in the future type of mentality towards a business that is honestly measuring if it is doing the right thing and spending wisely. It is something that every business needs to do eventually.

    Cons

Some of the recent hard decisions are going to impact employees by asking more of them until the company can demonstrate success. It may be that the above decisions were put off for too long and the result was that the recent decisions had to be harsher than they would have been if done earlier.

    Advice to Management

Stay the course but realize the burden placed on the employee base.

I worked at Caradigm full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Some good people are still working in the company. Pretty decent cloud technology. Not bad location in the downtown Bellevue.

    Cons

Clueless, malicious, shortsighted and in general different capacity management. So called 'agile' methodologies not related to thought through development process or customer needs. Dispirited developers thinking about moving to different companies. Some folks are stuck because of visa issues and this is unfortunate.

    Advice to Management

Not sure what advice to give to these management, I lost trust in them long time ago. If I owned this company many of the managers would be pointed to the door immediately. So folks, please run the company into the ground a little bit slower and let the employees jump the ship. I don't see what else you can do.

    I worked at Caradigm full-time

    Pros

Caradigm was a good company to work for. They have a great group of very bright people and are very committed to improving healthcare and healthcare technology.

    Cons

With the change in ownership to 100% GE, it isn't clear what level of flexibility they will have in continuing to pursue their objectives independently.

    Advice to Management

Given recent cutbacks their resources will be very stretched. They will need to focus on a smaller set of targets to be successful.
