I have been working at Carahsoft full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Entry level. Free trip to somewhere tropical. No drug testing. Feels like you never left college and your getting paid (albeit horribly) to continue to do so.

    Cons

Pay. Managers. The turnover here is comical. Pay transparecy. They have like 8 restroom stalls for a building that houses 500ish people? Keep a bucket in your car, its more sanitary.

    Advice to Management

Take management classes. Your job is to manage. If you cant hang onto most employees over a year, that means somethings wrong. Instead of hirng an endless army of cold callers that will use youu for the stepping stone your are, clearly define what it take to make it here and what further compensation and hiw is it gained consistently

Offer a more competitive wage. It takes time to become proficient at any job. Most ppl arent going to be satisfied making the same salary for two years minimum ( im not even acknowledging the "3k bonus" you get for not quitting on them before 6 months pass.

I have been working at Carahsoft full-time

    Pros

Good place to start straight from college. Employees are mostly young grads, everybody is friends with each other, and culture is laid-back. Very team-oriented. Management is approachable and reliable.

    Cons

Culture can be too laid-back-- a lot of people don't take the job seriously. Very little opportunity for professional growth. Low base pay. No pay for working overtime. No flexibility with working hours. Cold calling is a major part of the job.

    Advice to Management

Get an HR department. Seriously. No company this size should be without an HR department. Value your employees and reward good work.

    "Don't drink the koolaid"

Former Employee - Marketing Account Lead

I worked at Carahsoft full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It is not a bad first job after graduation. Almost everyone is in their 20s and friendly (most people). They really do try to build company culture with trips, happy hours, and random gifts throughout the year. Your happiness here will completely depend on what team you are placed on and how much determination you put in for your job. I was very lucky to be on a team with marketing, sales, and vendors I got along with. However, if you want to advance at all in the company or even get raises you really have to put in more work and energy than anyone else. As a marketing major, this job was a great opportunity to learn more, be hands on, and also have a lot of responsibility. There was a lot of great things I could put on my resume. However...

    Cons

... if you are career driven you will literally work yourself to death here, and with little or no reward or awknowledgement. Marketing management plays favorites and base decisions entirely on whether or not they like you personally. Dont expect to make any real money here. They expect employees to be extremely loyal but will not reward them for being loyal. There is no HR dept. They never have the guts to fire people who clearly do poor work and/or don't show up for work. They need serious marketing training because management doesn't have a clue what it's doing and are trying tactics that are several years old. There is so much drama and gossip it will drive you crazy. I felt like I was in highschool. They only hire people at entry level, so all of management are people who have been there for years and are brainwashed minions of Craig. If you don't "drink the koolaid" you're gonna have a bad time.

    Advice to Management

Be more open minded and stop taking everything so personally. It's a job, so the gossip and drama should be left at home.

I worked at Carahsoft full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

You have a lot of opportunity to be creative and implement new ideas, even as a new entry level employee. You are able to take on a lot of responsibility, and if you're smart about it can really boost your resume for future opportunities in the process. A lot of the reviews on here are really negative, but no job is absolutely perfect, and I think Carahsoft really believes in creating a company culture. This is not something you always find down the line when working with much older people.

    Cons

The salary is really low, and I know that's pretty common with entry level jobs, but at some point salaries at other become too tempting.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your great talent so they stay longer, and not just in trips and presents (even though those are great too!)
