I worked at Cardinal Health as an intern

    Pros

Despite its large size, networking and cross-functional collaboration are fairly common and encouraged. There are several opportunities to get involved including different employee resource groups and volunteering. Upper management are very receptive and create an environment of continuous feedback. Recognition for hard work is also frequent and encouraged.

    Cons

Since the company is so big it sometimes feels as if you are lost in the shuffle.

I have been working at Cardinal Health full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great culture and very nice people. There are lots of opportunities for different types of marketing roles within the company.

    Cons

Really large company with multiple divisions can sometimes make it hard for career planning. Marketing roles can greatly vary depending on the team.

    Advice to Management

Provide marketing career planning workshops for employees and break down silos across the organization for better sharing of ideas.

I worked at Cardinal Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

cafeteria, free coffee , water and tea, medical benefits, plenty of parking, location is close to a lot of food places, area bars and the mall. Easy access to 270.

    Cons

Low pay, constant micromanagement , antiquated attendance policies, poor training, in your face favoritism, definitely a clique mentality. You be a great performer but if you’re not connected to anyone people will speak well of you but you won’t be promoted.

    Advice to Management

Let employees do their jobs and loosen up the rule book a little. A little flexibility goes a long way because policies are meant to be a guide not the absolute letter of the law.

I worked at Cardinal Health full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible schedule in some departments. Others are more strict. Cafe is nice. Gym better then average for low cost monthly.

    Cons

Zero direction or ownership by leadership. Pay is less than market average. Conflicting messages regarding work/life balance. Management talks out of both sides of mouth.

    Advice to Management

Start clearing paths for those below you to succeed rather than always stating how it’s what it is around here and accepting the chaos and uncertainty.
