I worked at Cardinal Health full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The only good thing about working here would be the benefits, PTO, and a nice campus with an onsite pharmacy and credit union.

    Cons

The corporate office in Dublin is horrible. People are incredibly rude and stuck up. Forget about trying to move around and get into new positions because 9 times out of 10 they already know who they want for the job and will only interview you to satisfy reporting numbers. The upper management is horrible for the most part. Very click like environment and a lot of gossiping and back stabbing. Departments don't work together which causes a lot of friction and wasted dollars.

    Advice to Management

Bring in new talent and get better recruiters. Do a complete overhaul of the management and stop fostering an environment that only helps certain people get ahead. Focus on helping all of your lower level people advance in their careers because you're missing out on a lot of really good talent. Also, stop laying people off when you acquire a new business and instead try placing those people into other open positions instead of treating them like outsiders who have to start all over. The company likes to brag about how well they take care of their employees but they don't walk the walk. Everyone is just a number at Cardinal Health.

I have been working at Cardinal Health full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Strategic player in the healthcare industry.

    Cons

Slow advancement, antiquated and salaries do not match experience and responsibilities. Employees are passive aggressive, which results in constant back stabbing and lack of trust across enterprise teams. I wish I could say that my experience had been better.

I worked at Cardinal Health full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Having the opportunity to work in health care and in any way contribute to the care of patients is an honor.
While Cardinal doesn't care for patients directly, there products and services are critical to the providers.
Compensation was always competitive. Bonus and Stock Option / Grants are the key to long term financial rewards.
Management is held accountable for managing their teams to achieve goals AND maintain a work/ life balance.
People are treated fairly. In fact minorities and women may have an advantage as increasing representation is a corporate priority.

    Cons

Rapidly evolving strategy in Medical Segment, where morale tends to be lower and turnover is high.
Constant restructuring including layoffs to cut expenses.
Pharma segment is the engine that drives entire organizations profitability. Growth is slowing.
Executives tell you what they want you to believe, not necessarily the truth.

    Advice to Management

Be genuine and honest --- especially at CEO level of Segments.
Transparency has gone down over last 5 years.
    Stamp out the politics.

I worked at Cardinal Health as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Cool space, really opened clean nice laptops and monitors. Snacks and free drinks on hand and great opportunity to collaborate with others.

    Cons

Leadership at Fuse is horrible. Via reorganization the org is left with people that couldn't lead themselves out of a wet paper bag. Back stabbing is the norm, people blaming others for their inability to lead or to make decisions. "Agile" haha not on their best day. They preach being an innovative org but they don't have anyone that can deliver. A lot of what they try to do there is fueled by buzz words from great leaders that have since moved on. When you promote people that have been there for 16 years and have never been a people leader to Director level it's bound to be a failure. The level of trust is probably the lowest I have seen in central Ohio. People will promise things they can't deliver and they will pull a bait and switch on you. You can't trust anyone there.

    Advice to Management

Advice is demote the VP and directors as well as the ops leader. They have zero business being in a leadership capacity. They can't deliver heck they don't know the meaning of the word delivery. The personalities of these people are just not a personality that people follow. When you have a boss that will toss you under a bus because of their own incompetence that is not the place people want to work.
