I worked at Cardinal Health full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Six Sigma training and benefits

    Cons

Management was poor and disconnected. Associates and supervisors were not treated properly or with respect. Process Improvement was never sustained. Hours varied into 12-15 hour shifts.

    Advice to Management

Take better care of your associates. The order selectors are the ones who directly support your customers' requirements and satisfaction. If you take care of them then the order fulfillment quality will improve. Relax on the metrics and numbers. Six Sigma is a great initiative but not meant to be a feared tool among the employees.

    Pros

Cardinal offers a wide variety of opportunities. If you fall into a field you don't find interesting, it is not terribly difficult to start in another direction.

    Cons

Cardinal is so big it is easy to get lost in the masses, if you work in the field getting recognized by corporate can be difficult since they have so much going on within their own walls.

I worked at Cardinal Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There was adequate training, but the opportunities were slim.

    Cons

Lots and lots of overtime without getting paid! Temps are everywhere and they do not like or trust leadership. This place can ruin your career. Very unappreciative people.

    Advice to Management

Compensate employees. No bonuses and no career advice. No assistance with other people. No directives. Nothing!

    Pros

Best reason to work for Cardinal Health was the decision to become Cardinal One and allow employees to add an additional 5 yrs prior work experience to their time within Cardinal. It allowed several employees the opportunity to move up a bracket and add additional days of vacation alloted each year.

    Cons

Communication within each department is very one sided. Managers are allowed to share information at their leisure and therefore, important information is sometimes not shared or found out elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

Allow exempt level employees the opportunity to evaluate their Manager's just as Manager's evaluate their staff. Employees are not allowed to share feedback regarding the "negative" aspects of who they report to. Often staff is overlooked for promotions because Upper Management isn't aware of what is going on within the department.

    Pros

The people are all great, they work together to get the job done. Benefits are great, you get 19 days vacation from day one and it increases after that. Cardinal invests in you and they love to promote from within the company most of the time.

    Cons

Pay is a bit on the lower end.

I worked at Cardinal Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great Benefits. Employees have a great attitude.

    Cons

Long hours. Constantly understaffed. The second shift often has no idea on what time they are leaving.

    Advice to Management

Staff shifts for current volumes. The turnover is/was outrageous. Many of the associates have good ideas on how to make things better....listen to them.
